@AntEater1997Fair enough but I do think people are letting things like that video get under their skin and cause unnecessary and unwarranted anger.
Let us discount bugs for a minute and that rediculous list of 'missing features' that is floating around.
When you are in game with your mates, shooting and blowing stuff up, hoonong around in a wide variety of vehicles and having a blast, what is fundamentaly missing and be honest?
Whilst my mates and I accept that there are issues, we are warming to the game that more often than not feels like playing Battlefield.
@Trokey66What I'm finding is that outside of times I have played with friends, there is literally no cohesion going on. Even though anyone can revive, it's rare for me to ever get revived by a random. Squads have been more or less an afterthought for a long time (since BF2142), but it's worse in this game than I've seen it before.
I could fire up a game like BF4 on my own and still feel a sense of teamwork. I can try to take a flag on my own with squad mates maybe spawning in on me, and the hunt is on!
I get none of that with this game. No cohesion. No teamwork. Every time I roll into a flag, defenders immediately run EXACTLY to my position. It doesn't matter what small corner I've tried to creep into. I've never been lasered like this immediately before in really any shooter, much less Battlefield.
Last night I'm on Breakaway taking B2 flag on the rig. I was in a corner under one of the stairs, when a proxy nade bounces 10 ft in front of me. Right on cue, I get lit up by someone running right to my position!
I feel like I'm just basically logging in to mindlessly play a shooter and rank up...you know...like with COD lol!!

@ArchAngeL-PCXIn terms of teamwork very seldom do I see any teamwork in any BF games. I see the same amount of teamwork in 2042 as I have seen in BF2, 3 & 4, none. Every now and then someone will revive me or hand out ammo or actually help me take a flag.

@CantGetRightYou and I have had very different experiences then. Like i said, squad play began to erode starting with Bad Company. BF2142 is the last game that had a legit command structure, working in game mics, etc and everyone playing within that structure. BF2 for sure had that, so I don't know what you're talking about there. BF3 and BF4? Not so much but still more than in BF2042.
And speaking of mics...we HAVE NO IN GAME MICS!! LOL!! How are we going to have any measure of squad cohesion with randoms without mics?- StormyDanieIs5 years agoSeasoned Rookie
Gotta love EA's response to Tom's video.
“We are serious about Battlefield. EA is investing significant time and resources into Battlefield 2042 and the long-term success of the franchise. We have a strong new leadership group overseeing Battlefield led by Vince Zampella, Founder of Respawn and Group General Manager, and Byron Beede, General Manager of Battlefield. Rebecka Coutaz, will take over as the General Manager of DICE, and work closely with Christian Grass at Ripple Effect Studios and Marcus Lehto who is building a new studio in the Seattle area focused on Battlefield. Also, Alex Seropian and his team at Industrial Toys continue their work on Battlefield Mobile. We will continue to grow and improve Battlefield 2042 as it is the foundation for the future of this franchise. We have the right leaders in place and we’re investing in the teams and resources to capture Battlefield’s massive potential.”

@CantGetRightIm not sitting here trying to suggest no one can or should like this game. But all this is why Battlefield fans are upset. Like others have said, you can still move a series forward while staying true to the identity that got you there. Halo Infinite for instance has recaptured that for Halo fans while also being the first open world game in the series plus a free to play multiplayer. But at the core, Halo Infinite is doing what fans want from a Halo game.
BF2042 doesn't even have a ping system like in Apex Legends. I rarely even use a mic when I play Apex the ping system is so good.

@ArchAngeL-PCXI have the same experience with the lack of teamplay in pretty much every BF before so in that sense, thos one is no exception.
And there are without doubt, balance issues that need ironing out especially around the amount of spotting devices and hopefully they will be addressed. Let's not forget though, in BF4 even a light fart put you on the mini map at least so again, this game is not much different on that sense.Part of the problem is 128 players on large maps but you've been around here awhile and will know that this is what the 'community' wanted, especially the large maps.
A way round that that we have found is to not try to fight the whole map, just a sector or 2.

EA scewed up big time with this psuedo war shooter, they need to react fast or else franshise is dead as a fossil in a couple of months.
- 5 years ago@Trokey66 I was playing BF4 as recently as this month. I've had it in consistent rotation every year, so it's fresh in the mind. The map was Dragon Valley 2015. I was able to attack and defend flags consistently as usual without defenders all immediately running to my exact position. It's not even close to what is going on in BF2042.
The map design is indeed part of the issue. There aren't enough flags on the 128 versions. In fact, they remove flags that are in the 64 player versions.
By comparison, Dragon Valley 2015 has 8 flag locations for just 64 players, spread out all over the map. The flags aren't right on top of each other like some of them in this game either.
Golmud Railway, Giants of Karelia, Hangar 21, Operation Whiteout, Silk Road, Dragon Pass, Paracel Storm, Gulf of Oman 2014, Operation Mortar, Wavebreaker, etc...part of what makes these maps great is the fact they have 7 to 8 separate flag locations that spread the action out and allow or the flanking that this game isn't getting.
