You can always try it first on EA play. I would say it is in a good place right now but try it first it's not every one's cup of tea.
Well, it's kind of subjective, what is "worth" it to one may not be to others.
IMHO it is indeed worth it now that a good deal of bug fixes and missing features have been addressed/added as well as some of the extra content injected into it.
Not all the bugs have been ironed out and many features a lot of players would like to see in the game are still missing, but it is definitely in a MUCH better state now than it was at launch.
