This has to go, no one asked for this, why waste development time on a new mechanic and animation that is buggy as hell?
If you just touch a rock the wrong way, you stumble, land on flat ground with a parachute at any speed, stumble.
It is a terrible mechanic, again, what is the thought process that goes into adding something like this? The next dev podcast, how does this go from idea to approval, and why does the entire team think something like this needs to be added?
It essentially prevents you from doing any other action in the game until it is completed. Just black my screen out instead.
@AdamonicThe only possible explanation I could come up with is that someone at DICE sold others on the idea that parachute diving was OP and trying to make Sundance more appealing (She doesn't stumble when landing from glides). Of course this explains nothing when it comes to why they thought it was good to make soldiers stumble on the ground.
I'm honestly wondering if this was an animation team idea and noone wanted to upset them by rejecting this horrible idea. Maybe they thought it looked cool in third person?

Hi all,
Thanks for the feedback on this. Passing it on to the teams.

Thank you.
- RMEChief3 years agoLegend@DigitalHype god I hope not. There is a lot that goes into creating a function like that, with obvious triggers, etc. Now they would have to waste more time stripping it out and retesting it. Just a big waste of time for something that actually makes gameplay worse for everyone.
- 3 years ago@Adamonic That's the big advantage BF4 had with the CTE that 2042 doesn't have.
A few thousand players testing is a lot better than a few dozen Dice employees testing. - skates153 years agoRising Ace
The only animations I want are the revive to be done better and it would be cool to see a teammate reloading. All the other pre-match animations should go, all of them.
