Who doubts that question after todays trailer? The whole core design is basically built for Hazard Zone.
@mesterKG The community defines what is and is not a bf game. The class system has been in place since Battlefield 1942. Your freedom to play however you want with this new system betrays sensibility, and trashes team play. Med kits and ammo boxes are now rare to non existent and I don't know who to request these things from if needed. I can't tell if a sniper has a rocket on them if I'm in a tank, etc. etc.
@ghinavirus Agreed, the layout / shape is very unusual and unfitting for a conquest game mode. There is a cluster of four flags in the north, and two flags on either extreme end, this makes no sense unless these areas were never meant to be flags. The whole shape is weird, something I've never seen in a game before and makes it hard to traverse from flag to flag. Tom Henderson's leak is most probably correct. I think they just tossed in tornados for marketing.

The nonsense being talked about BF2042 is off the charts.
I just read a thread about tiny soldiers! I swear some of these rumours are started as troll posts to see if they can get enough people to bite. - @UnCazualGamer you are stating opinions and predictions as facts. You do not know how specialists and load-outs instead of classes will affect team play.
The community has never agreed on one definition of what bf is and it never will. - RaginSam4 years agoSeasoned Ace@mesterKG For real.
Since when has the class based system lead to more teamwork anyways? I mostly see people doing their own thing working towards the common goal of capping points. Which is fine.
With the specialist system people are going to play the game in exactly the same manner. I don’t understand this argument that the class system magically leads to more teamwork. @mesterKG No, I absolutely know how they affect teamplay as I played the beta. Nobody throws medkits or ammo boxes anymore (and you don't know who if anyone has them), you can't your tell team from theirs, I don't know as a vehicle operator if a sniper also has a rocket launcher, it's a disaster. Most of the community agrees that the class system is integral to the Battlefield Franchise, and it has been in every single game prior, its obviously a series staple.
There is also the fact the map they showed us is hot trash for conquest. With a quad cluster of flags in one part, and then one or two flags in other places. Gotta love the single flags way in the wings that are annoying to get to, genius design.
@RaginSam "Since when has the class based system lead to more teamwork anyways?" Since Battlefield 1942.
Obviously everyone is on their own and playing for their own enjoyment, but you indirectly support each other. BF3 is played to this day and med kits and ammo boxes are tossed around plenty because they are class bound. On smaller maps requesting and giving ammo on request is semi-common, now you can't do that anymore. If you are in a vehicle you don't know who to avoid, before you knew support had c4 and that engis had rockets, now you are paranoid that a stupid sniper might also have an rpg up his butt.
"I don’t understand this argument that the class system magically leads to more teamwork." You might want to start by playing the previous games then.
- @UnCazualGamer I wouldn’t judge the team play from the beta. Half the guys in there ran around looking for oib moments and the other half thought only the medic lady could revive team mates. Add to that key co-op features like the com rose was missing. Also this is a new way of playing which the players need to adapt and learn. This requires more than two days of beta play. The new way is not blocking team play and if team play is that important to the community, there will be team play, I believe. Lastly on this, I too played the beta and both gave and received meds and ammo so it was not totally absent. I’ve played plenty of earlier bf games were the support was lacking.
You can have your opinion and you may predict. And you may even turn out to be right, but at this stage you cannot claim knowledge and give facts about how this will turn out.
As for knowing who can give you meds or ammo, you are correct. I hope they do something like in bfv where if you requested support, the nearby options to get it was highlighted in ui. You don’t require a strict class selection to accomplish this.
Maybe this new system will encourage more squad play, ie you must rely more on sticking together with your squad and that your squad needs the different support functions. I only wished they went back to non-mandatory squad join as it was in bf2 at least, so those that squad up are interesting in playing in squad.
The beta had other shortcomings as you point out. Some of which will be improved, I m sure. Think I read somewhere that the friend or foe identification was already improved in current build. I certainly hope so as this was an issue for me too.
Even if it is a series staple, I see it as a good thing that dice is trying to evolve and improve stuff. This specialist and free load out selection may not be the right path in the end, but we won’t know until tried. The franchise would die if they didn’t try new stuff. The old timers that wants to play a bf4 clone is not sufficient to support a game as big as they want bf to be.
