Portal and AOW were two different teams at the start. Resources were diverted to helping fix AOW after so many community members left feedback so we wouldn't have gotten map redesigns and class changes the way we did if more work was put into Portal. I'm really hoping they go all-in on Portal for future seasons/titles

i would have rather not had my gadgets locked and had a better portal experience. that'd be a win win

Committing 100% to Portal and their shared universe is a no-brainer to me. Focusing on clans, events, and the community will make BF bulletproof, invincible.

By the time a survey is sent out, the decisions has usually already been made because these kinds of decisions in a company structure like Dice and EA take a disproportionate amount of time and resources to deliberate over and come to a decision. It is no secret that 2042 was a commercial and technical failure from day 1. Even if it were a roaring success, maintaining both the main game and Dice LA's side project was always going to be a precarious expectation.

It's not really a matter of sacrifice.
We really could have had both. 2042 was a broken game at launch, literally broken. Far worse than BF4 was at launch.
Development for 2042 was inherently flawed because of the Frostbite engine, that's where most of the development time went towards after the exodus of the engineers behind the Frostbite engine. There's a reason why the UI and HUD were so significantly different from BFV, BF1 and BF4. Different development team entirely that was unfamiliar with the Frostbite engine. Only now, does the UI and HUD have similar customization.- 3 years ago

Only now, does the UI and HUD have similar customization.i didn't want both. i wanted them to make portal something special and leave AOW alone. by forgetting about portal and also locking the gadgets it was a double whammy for me
as for the engine...they need to just scrap frostbite and pay the money to use unreal
