From a perspective of a ground troop trying to take out a jet, good luck. I tried over and over and nine times out of ten you can't even get a lock on a jet. There are a million things from wires to tree limbs to smoke and badly shaped hit boxes on objects to keep a lock on from happening. If you do happen to get a spot that's clear, the jet is just too fast (if the pilot knows his craft). He's gone out of range before lock on can happen.
As to against helos, It's hard to impossible for a jet to take down a helo alone. I don't know who thinks a helo is as fast as a jet wide open, but just no. I'm not sure how a helo could take a jet if the pilot is any good.
I think jets are nigh on to worthless except against other jets....

Well since they rightly nerfed their AGM reload time, I don't care about jets anymore so I really don't mind that they are hard to take out from the ground.
They have little impact against the ground war now so I'm not sure why an infantry player would be so intent on taking them down.
