Forum Discussion
I merged a few other posts into this main one (hopefully I did it right)
Fully agree, I can't imagine a shooter game without M&K support. Actually I will cancel my preorder if it is not available in the beta or confirmed for the final version.
- 4 years ago@MrRockArm Me too. I won't buy game until the confirmation. Will buy vanguard instead if there is no mouse and keyboard support. And wait for halo release.

The devs delay game to add mouse and keyboard support am i rite DICE?
The delay might potentially give them an extra bit of time to add this support. I really hope they atleast acknowledge this. I can't even tell if posting feedback here ever reaches to the devs.

Feedback about M&K support has definitely reached devs.
Not sure whether or not it will be implimented but when they say polish, I don't exactly think adding different accessability options is what they meant
- 4 years ago
Soo..will there be M&K support for consoles in the beta?
Interesting! Thanks for the info @TTZ_Dipsy 🙂
Would be nice to see them expanding the Call of Duty approach and give us an extra level of input control. I love playing infantry and tanks with my gamepad. But for anything air-related I definitely need mouse and keyboard. So being able to switch between them during a match, woulda be amazing! Actually it is sad that I have to praise a basic usability requirement, which was standarized ~20 years ago and has worked well on PC since ages, in 2021 as an AMAZING feature on consoles 😞
Call of Duty has become an amazing experience since MW2019, especially since the lobbies being pretty balanced with MnK and gamepad players. Hope to see this heterogeneous way of crossplay in Battlefield as well. Still hoping for a server balancer spreading gamers based on skill level on different teams, since the skill gap on public servers is pretty huge in Battlefield!

oh so sad i cancel my preoder for now 🙂

Could Xim or Cronus be used for k&m access, or is that considered cheating?
@ElliotLH
I think you're correct, and unless EA/DICE and/or Sony and Microsoft forbid them being used (for which they have not), they're allowed.
And so anyone wanting to use these devices should feel free too, until something can be cited you cannot. So, for k&m if that's what you want to use, go for it. - 4 years ago@ElliotLH Seeing as they can adjust the fire rate of weapons and eliminate recoil I highly consider them to be cheating, but apparently they can't be used with PS5 games so that's a huge plus.
- ElliotLH4 years agoHero+@TankerFlanker I agree that the Cronus shouldn't be allowed due to the macros, but don't have a massive problem with the Xim Apex or M&K use as a whole myself in all honesty.
This was pretty much my initial point, that in most cases it comes down to what we as individuals see as acceptable. There are most likely even people out there who would consider Elite/Scuf controllers as giving an unfair advantage. - 4 years ago
I totally agree and have cancelled my pre order I think it is a DISGRACE that we cannot choose our input method like pc players can for a game we have purchased JUST LIKE THEM.
I'll just switch to COD which DOES have Mouse and keyboard support on console, works fine any excuses EA makes are because they are backward and lazy.
- 4 years ago@dogred Defintley cheating since you still have the advantage of AA while using it. It's as bad as aimbotting to be honest.

@dogredI don't believe that it's been officially stated that using them is not allowed, but I may be mistaken about that.@ElliotLH , I quoted in the other thread on the plea for m&k to Playstation why aka Cronus is absolutely and rightfully so considered cheating by EA!
Just read the EA TOS for the gaming and you will understand why.
Just as an example:
...any interference with game mechanics as they were intended by the game designers (aka the weapon recoil) is considered cheating.
So yes absolutely, it is cheating.
Of course it is!
Otherwise why are you playing Battlefield if you think its great then to buy additional hardware/software to negate real life physics that this game is proud to mimic in its controls?
Also reason why we are many that are happy that EA have so far declined to enable m&k for the PS5 gameplay.
But its unfortunately come to the point that a large part of the BF gamer population have felt inclined to have to use such cheater hardware/software just to enable them to play a decent game because everybody else is also.
But it doesn't make it legit.
And EA and the other gaming companies do have direct ways to measure that such * is attached and used for the cheating.
Can we please agree to that cheating has to stop for the game to be worth playing.

Example EA TOS conditions:
- Use or distribute unauthorized software programs or tools (such as "auto", "macro", hack or cheat software), or use exploits, bugs or problems in an EA Service to gain unfair advantage.
So let us see now...
How about using some of those mentioned hardware/software gadgets to:
- Remove all weapon recoil
- Make all weapons full-auto fire weapons
- Auto-spot/ping all enemies
- Auto sprint and bunny hopping
- Auto side-swiping when aiming down sight
Is that cheating?
It's certainly gaining a huge unfair advantage in my book.
Shocking if there is no consensus on that being the case.
Or we all have to buy these cheater gadgets now to play our game and that is the great new norm?
And why not tell EA then please to remove all recoil in the game. Wouldn't that be easier then.
- 4 years ago@CyberDyme No kb&m support means more people will use cronus and infect controller lobbys.
@NoTimeToDecide absolutely not, it will only open up for one more additional channel for the cheaters to use.
The cheaters will try to cheat, no matter what you do. So limiting their options as much as possible is the way to go.
The cheats main revenue (and their development) is for m&k usage. Sad but reality.
The modded controllers is another matter.
And that is where Sony also has stopped those now with integrity check on the PS5 controllers, where only approved native controllers can work.
So its up to the game designers how they want to police the allowance of use of 3rd party components within their games.
- 4 years ago@CyberDyme I don't see how this affect controller users. As far as I've researched, adding M&K support does not mean Cronus or xim will now be compatible. Vanguard has native M&K support and xim/Cronus did not work on it so unless you have a proper source, I don't think it's valid.
Even if they two are related, you can already use XIM/Cronus on a PS5 game through remote play. The lobbies are already breached. Like you said, cheaters are going to cheat anyway so I don't think not having this support is going to stop them. If anything, adding M&K support will only reduce the number of people who buy an adapter.
You can already use a XIM/Cronus on new xbox consoles and a lot of console players still wanted crossplay between consoles only so it doesn't seem like adapters was a concern for them.
If the devs don't add M&K support, there will still be (and potentially more) adapter users and even if they bought it to play with a M&K they won't bother turning off aim assist or go to a crossplay lobby. However way you see it, the problem is there with or without this support so pinning this as a reason to not have M&K support is not right. All you are doing is ruining the plenty of people who get benefitted by this. People who prefer a M&K, people who have arthritis or can't hold a controller. - 4 years ago@CyberDyme if there is kb&m support, less people will buy cronus so they make less money. i dont think you can use hacking software for kb&m on console but even if you can, they will still be on crossplay lobby. controller lobbies wont have any problem from this.
