@rouvioThere is absolutely nothing wrong with multiplayer in Battlefield series. This is where Battlefield shine, I totally agree. But some fans, like me, have been asking for the simple offline mode for years. Like dedicated offline sandbox mode/practice range which has nothing to do with progression in multiplayer (like Instant Action mode in Star wars Battlefront 2). We are just tired of "online only" games where developers/publishers decide to shut down servers after few years and we cannot play with game anymore. I want this cool weapons, gadgets and vehicles to stay so I can fool around in some dedicated offline mode, even when multiplayer servers dont exist anymore.
If this game will have that mode, than I will instant buy ultimate edition, otherwise it's not worth it in my opinion, because I will be locked out of the content after few years.
Wait we can't practice offline? Why not? That should be an obvious feature of the game.

Pretty sure they confirmed we'd be able to play offline
- 4 years ago@TTZ_Dipsy I think there will be a forced internet connection. But I know there are 2 types of bots. Self-learning and ordinary.
Self-learning - Config / Service
Regular bots - Config
We've all been waiting since 2010 to add bots for offline. We needed all this. - 4 years ago
@TTZ_DipsyThat would be great! but I haven't seen anything on it. Do you have an article or something that explains your position?
- 4 years ago@dogking57 He is my favorite) everyone is waiting for offline. We are waiting for this.
- 4 years ago@TTZ_Dipsy I'm pretty sure they haven't.
- 4 years ago@BuldozerX86 and I'm glad too. Many have confirmed.
- 4 years ago@Forkbeard84 I'm afraid to say, but I think we will have a forced internet connection. We need bots for offline mode (LAN\Offline). Because it's fun and has always been the format for Battlefield (Lines 2)

Always online is just another DRM that the pirates will still bypass.
Might as well make the game better for those who pay.

@Forkbeard84 First of all, BF 2042 will NOT have a Singleplayer campaign.
But it's been confirmed that there will be new AI Soldiers (aka Bots) included in the game, which means you can play alone or even with a squad of friends (+the rest of you team being filled with AI Soldiers) against a full enemy team of AI soldiers. To test new stuff ect. or just mess around.
Even tho if you could play alone with only Bots, we don't know if this is possible completely offline, since you might still play on a multiplayer map.
Greets,
Trav
- 4 years ago@Its_Travis_199 @soldiermxdeath Yes, offline mode will save the game. Because if they want to give a gift to fans, the best gift is offline. I'm ready to buy Ultimate if there are offline bots.

the obvious injustice if there's no offline, or test range, is to the novice pilot. it takes several hours at least to just get the mechanics. if you have to fight for an in match heli, and will only last seconds, you are freezing them out.

Yup, helicopters are a bit tricky to get used to.
I've tried out the beta. I played five matches but I've only enjoyed two of them. On the other three the other team was totally dominating, too much imbalance.
I've already experienced some connectivity issues, basically nothing works without an internet connection, as expected.
The game plays great, it's a bit of a resource hog but I expected as much. However, without offline support I won't be getting it. ☹️
