I don't think that without offline support for the bots the game will actually be playable at launch.

No company sizes their servers for peak user numbers, and the hype for the game is huge.

Without offline support I strongly believe a lot of people that purchase the game will be locked out and completely unable to play the game for days to weeks (depending on how long the initial wave of players lasts).

I can't recall the last time the launch of an "always online" title went smoothly.

I for one will not be purchasing it until offline support for the bots is confirmed. I was actually thinking of pre-ordering, the only thing holding me back was that I lacked confirmation of offline support. Good thing I waited, I don't like refunding games.

@Strelok_1284 I remember in 2019 i couldn't play the new Modern Warfare game's campaign for the first few days because the servers were full.

@tyl0413 You have to be online to play the Campaign for Modern Warfare?? Are you playing on console?

@ChrisAWJBethel Console can play Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War offline, PC version is always online though, can't even launch the game without a connection, if you lose connection while playing you get kicked from the game.

@tyl0413 I strongly suggest you buy Call of Duty for console. It fully supports offline play and is therefore the superior experience.

@ChrisAWJBethel Got it free with my graphics card so can't complain too much, i wouldn't pay for an always online game. It's one of the few forms of DRM i can not tolerate.

@tyl0413 I was in the same situation. I received the code fo MW 2019 bundled with a graphics card. Not only was I unable to play for days but even if I did manage to get to the main menu and start a mission, if I got disconnected for a fraction of a second then it would kick me out of the game and I would lose all my progress.
I can think of nothing worse for a game than "always online".
Also I will never buy another CoD. Activision lets console players play offline but treats all PC players like they're thieves enforcing always on DRM on all of their titles, even single player ones.

@Strelok_1284 Always online is one of the most unneeded thing we got in modern gaming and not only does it hurt player's enjoyment of the game it draws some questionable practices into play. I see you already experienced it as did others, myself included.

@Strelok_1284 Wow. That sucks. But I would suggest not swearing off CoD (even though you're completely right to), but instead to emulate what we're doing here in this thread and petition for full offline play on PC. I also recommend buying CoD for console.
