Players play games to have a good time. All chat is counter productive to that, simple as that. There are the rare cases all chat is useful, but 95% of the time all chat is used for insults and hate speech. Why should a game developer include a feature that's a detriment the vast majority of the time?

I could make an argument that it should at least be an option in user-ran Portal servers. Considering we're never getting a server browser, and thus nothing remotely like what we had in previous BF games, the least that could be done is a checkbox at setup of a Portal server to have All-Chat be on or off. Maybe you're trying to test something out with a person on each side [and not over a voice chat like Discord] you literally have no way to communicate with another person.
Not even an ability to say 'Nice shot' when someone hits you with a recoiless in a chopper from across the map.

Those are valid points you make there.
I also thought it was nice to be able to shout out via global chat if you spotted a friends name in the enemy team.

Allchat scapped is because EA/Dice is scared to death to the possibllities that new wooke kids would leave this game (yup, they are sensitive), now there arent that much ppl
that are playing this brooke game anyway so...what the heck, it wont even matter ?
EA/Dice wont get it back into business because of this fact... its just simple a wooke thing (my opinion)!
- 4 years ago@StormtrooperDan lol. Let me guess, you are from what Gen of gamers? Quake was 1997 and it was a bloody good time. The chat was never "95 %" hate. Did you just make that number up? The solution is simple: give us an option for those who want it.

lol, Let me guess, you are one of those toxic players no-all-chat is meant to hinder.
I should have said "majority", would that make a difference? Devs aren't going to include a feature that's misused the majority of the time.
I agreed all chat should be an opt-in feature.
I think profanity filtering in chat is silly.
