To be honest, I'm digging Portal right now and so are my friends. ....it's the only reason I bought the game and the only aspect of BF2042 that connects to the past BF titles I once enjoyed.
Having said that, I have played HLL on PS5 and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, most of my PS friends have not been able to acquire a next-gen console yet so I really haven't spent much time with it.
The other thing is that HLL is a serious shooter on the level of milsim IMO / IME. Don't get me wrong. That's a good thing IMO but it is the kind of gameplay that can be very unforgiving with a steeper learning curve than most. ....which isn't appreciated by everyone. Luckily, a few of my friends and I do enjoy more hardcore titles and I'm hoping when they do get around to getting their PS5s we'll be spending time with HLL. ....besides, it free for us.
@Kean_1111 Pay me my $108 and I'll walk away! The squeaky wheel gets the grease! When DICE fixes and adds the "legacy" content it should have never eliminated, I'll stop hating it!

When I do I'll let you know.....on a side note, Team17 who collaborated with Black Matter studios on Hell Let Loose recently purchased HLL from them for over $60 million. They are taking an interest in expanding on the IP of HLL. The reason I bring this up is that it has already spawned rumors of a future HLL game in a more modern setting. Personally, that gets me super excited having a modern shooter in the SQUAD-like genre from a company that caters to the console market as well as PC.

I realized BF2042 wasn't the BF game I had hoped for as soon as it was revealed, the comments from the devs that followed and then the beta. The only thing that changed my mind about purchasing it was Portal. .....and that is all my friends and so far only with the BF3, BC2 and 1942 assets.
The initial rumors that the next BF would be heavily influenced by earlier BF titles like BF3 had me hopeful but then the true game was revealed and it was obvious they took it in another direction.
