@xVultureIt's infuriating to keep having an issue that ruins my experience, and I'll keep being vocal about it until I get some sort of feedback from a Dev or until we get some changes. At the very least they'll take into account how many people didn't care for crossplay or had bad experiences with it. Maybe crossplay won't be enabled as the default in the next Battlefield.
Then there's the issue with controllers getting assist on PC. It's one thing if console players want to do their own thing, but on PC I'm tired of companies over compensating and giving them these over-tuned assist. It only gets worse and justified with crossplay becoming a thing. It's made a handful of games literally unplayable for me.
In a way, we agree. Crossplay isn't as great as we thought that it might be. We tried it, but neither side is ever going to be really happy.
This my (console players) point. This is just not true. The perception of aim assist and snapping is distorted from the reality that it is almost more of a hindrance than help.
Other than that, I agree with continuing to be vocal about the issues. I apologize for my initial response. I gurss after seeing the same thread multiple times, my first thought is, "here we go again". You're right though, the community should keep these topics up until we receive a response.

When they measured the distance from where it'll snap to a target, it came out to roughly four times the distance in 2042 when compared to both BF1 and BF5.
Controller players also get a 25% reduction in recoil. Then they also get slow down and rotational assist. That's a lot of different assist mechanics to help controller players to not only get onto the target, but to stay on target. Besides all of that, there is something oddly consistent with how I predominantly die to console players. It really does feel like PC players are being purposely placed at least a couple of ticks behind console players. It happens every single round.
Maybe you're not able to feel those assist? Honestly I can't myself anymore when using a controller. However, when I plug in a Xim to test these mechanics out in different games, it becomes very apparent how strong they actually are. Depending on the game, it's basically tab targeting. I haven't tested the Xim out on 2042 because I sold all that stuff a while ago. Even with my potato aim on a controller in 2042 though I could definitely notice shots registering differently then when using a mouse. That reduced recoil alone is a huge advantage.
Visual clutter is also something that has more of an effect on PC players. When we aim with a mouse, we need to really focus and see our target clearly. Snap to target, slow down, and rotational assist all help with the different particle effects that can visually clutter your view. It's also a fact that it takes more concentration for a mouse user to stay on target in comparison to a controller player. Having those assist actually alleviate your mental capacity. It's less fatiguing and can allow you to focus more on positioning. A mouse player is using a lot of their brain power in the moment to track their target.

I keep mine around the middle of the road. I've tried adjust from highest to lowest and vice versa but there really isn't much of a difference that I can tell.
IMO snap is nonexistent and auto aim slows my aim down causing me to miss more than keep on target. I feel that I have to overcompensate to keep up with a moving target. Forget about it if another target moves near the current target as that will completely dismiss the first to track the second. That is only when it "works" because most of the time I really don't see the reticle slow down for targets.
