Nailed it! I was expecting the ai to at least be a nuisance to make capping/defending a challange, but it is really just 12 v 12 which is really too small.
It also brings back why I did not enjoy the maps in this game... running from point A to B in the wide open. It's just frustrating.
Edited* I was wrong, you can't earn ribbons for unlocks except by playing this lame mode. !
I played a couple more rounds, and as I expected this is not for me! It might appeal to CoD players but this has NOTHING to do with Battlefiield!
12 vs 12 is too few players, the maps are too small. The AI (Geists) is a huge let down and poorly implemented. I've seen hoards of them standing still! As others said they are not scary at all.
As to the gameplay itself, the 12 players are split between those who camp the Forge (place where the Geists spawn), those who capture objectives, and those who use it as team death match, mixed with the odd sniper on the cranes on Manifest.
The map design of Redacted for this mode.....well what shall I say about that? Whomever at Dice thought it was a good idea to have both teams spawn on opposite sites of the same deployment area (the A objective in Conquest), should hand in his/her resignation tomorrow, maybe check if Activision is hiring?
To top things of, where with Redux they made you earn the rewards by collecting ribbons in any official gamemode, they went back to only ribbons earned in the event mode for this one.
