So I'm wondering 3 things:
- Why? Lis is the ONLY infantry effective counter for air vehicles!
- When (if not in 6.2 update)?
- What? What will the nerf be?
There's been ( 2 ) recent mentions of a potential Lis nerf.
1) Inside Battlefield - Episode 27 podcast (34min 50sec)
Q: Any future changes planned for Lis planned?
A: Yes, she's a little too air focused. Next changes to Lis will tend her to ground targets and less air stuff. Maybe to open up a window for the other engineers.
2) Dev Notes - State of Vehicle gameplay.
Q: How do you feel about the current gameplay of Lis vs vehicles?
A: We've observed that Lis is currently one of the most visible anti-air gameplay elements, while also knowing that it isn't always a fun experience to be taken down by her unexpectedly.
While we don’t have any immediate changes planned for Lis, in the future we may adjust her kit to tone down those areas. Simultaneously, we’d also like to increase anti-air effectiveness for general soldier gameplay
There was never any statement indicating that 6.2 would see a nerf to Lis. Podcast hints a bit more strongly that there'd be a Lis nerf at some point in the future. Dev Notes suggest that any Lis nerf would be offset by a buff for other infantry AA options.

I wonder what would DICE consider as a buff to the other infantry AA options outside of buffing the Anti materiel or railgun rifle damage on the air units or introducing the BF4 Igla and the SRAW...Maybe some change to the semi smart reticle of the M5 recoiless that tries to calculate how much you need to lead your shot if the vehicle maintains speed and direction? (yeah, I am just dreaming :D
PS:
Do not tell me that they would just buff the AA damage of the sentry and vulcan peashooters

Correct, it has never been specifically mentioned that the Liz nerf would be part of the 6.2.0 updat. But because the info was shared along with a lot of info that is part of 6.2.0, many including me assumed it would be part of this update. But here again is where I got my info from and it reads “in a future update” which does mean an update after 6.2.0

@AngrySquid270doesn't necessarily say any nerf would be offset by a buff to other AA. It's says increase for general soldier gameplay. I read that as ANY soldier, i.e. not other engineers. So that sounds to me like a buff to damage by small arms fire. Maybe a full magazine will do 8 damage, instead of 6 :D But it will in no way, shape, or form be a true "offset" to the nerf they do to Lis.
Happy to be proven wrong, but that's how I'm reading it....
