No actually not, as what you describe here is due to a real bug in the game application.
So I strongly recommend you instead go to this area for the EA BF2042 Answers HQ forum, as that is where you can report any bugs that you may experience:

First please browse through to see if other players have already reported on this, (I tend to recall that it is), but then if not, please go ahead and create a new topic there to describe the bug you have encountered here.
This will then get noted by the tech team and placed on their to-do list for fixing.

Yes there is an already an entry - made by me - from November 2021 . Never acknowledged, never showed up on the known issues page. At this time was maybe a overwhelming amount of bugreports - maybe they oversee it.
Anyway I like to give this topic a bit more attention and would like to know if you guys can recreate the issue.
As it happens to all my squad members (and is one of the reasons non of my friends like to try portal again) I highly expect that everybody can recreate the issue and therefore it should be on the known issues page and worked on.
If I find motivation I make another entry in said threads. But this bug report section feels like a dumpster for all issues that never get any kind of attention. In this section I can at least get some answers(=attention) from other players.
This bug is sadly still not fixed! Loadout resett after playing portal.
@c4m3lYep, I don't play the portal modes because I don't want to deal with resetting loadouts. Only been 6 months, probably too hard.
I play on Xbox Series X and Portal can trigger a vehicle reload reset, but it is way less often than had been the case when the game launched as I have it occur maybe 1 out of every 3-4 nights versus 2-3 times nightly which was the case just a few months ago.
What I find weird now is that if I play the classic Portal games, and then switch to conquest of breakthrough, my soldier class gets resets. This seems to be new, anyone else get a soldier class reset between classic portal and 128/64 game modes???
