Mackay Cool-down…….. Why ?

Why does Mackay have a cool-down on his grapple.

It takes long enough for the re-load animation to play out, let alone wait for a cool-down timer to run down before you can zip around again.

would it not be more fun to get rid of this cool-down altogether. ?

@DunkPricey It’s about adding a semblance of balance, he’s not Spider-Man. They’ve nerfed him a little since release and it was definitely warranted. His mobility was such a bonus that they reduced the range of the grapple as well as increasing the cool down time. He went from people complaining about him daily in the forums to only now and then, which shows it’s worked lol. One of the few times the Devs got it right. They adjusted the deal, pray they don’t alter it any farther….

@DunkPricey it would be fun, but Mackay and Sundance are the game breaking Specialists with their mobility. So that change would make Mackay even more OP.

Maybe in Portal, but unlimited grapples? It would feel like Tribes (old game)

Grapple hook is among the best abilities in the game, especially on some areas of some maps.
Would a shorter cool down be fun for you? Sure
Would a shorter cool down be fun for those chasing you around? Probably not
Would a shorter cool down further unbalance the ability in comparison to the other options? Probably.
I feel that it makes map design too hard. Gameplay too random. I wouldn't mind if it never appears in a BF game again.

Would be nice if I knew how to fool around with cool-downs on Portal.

@DunkPricey I’m not sure you can change cooldowns? A change like that would likely affect your ability to earn missions or ribbons or XP in Portal modes. Usually you can make a map sequence and add bots but any other changes will restrict rewards.

No Mackey is pretty much the strongest specialist as it is cool just stops him and the game turning into some apex non sense.

@RangerVVI Agree with you! Mackey is by far the best specialist.

Removing its cooldown, will be a big mistake, Imagine how frustrating was to defend maps with high objects like Manifest, Exposure Stranded, where you can easily abuse from high position to pressure opponents.
