At this point it is worthless to do anything to Mackay, but he is really going to limit which maps they can port into 2042. There are so many maps that currently have areas of the map that you can't access but are still "in bounds". One Grappling Hook shot changes that, and instead of 3 or 4 avenues of approach to defend, you have to defend 20 on a 360 degree swivel.
Sundance presents the same access problems. BF was always built on pathing and the only way you would get on top of inaccessible areas was with an aircraft. However, there are a bunch of maps without aircraft and those will all be broken with Mackay and Sundance. The entire map design and strategy is out the window. It becomes COD BF Heroes.
This is the problem. People play a specialist they like. Another kills them using their special ability. They come here and whine because they dont have the ability.
The real issue is, play Mackay if you want elevation advantage.
Play Rao or Paik is you want spotting advantage
Play (insert specialist here) if you want that specialists advantage. This is nothing more then a R/P/S complaint.

- @Padding_Ur_Stats The problem is that McKay is OP in general, due to his ADAD-spam-ability (esp. against infantry) and whenever the map has any "verticality", he gets another advantage as well (grappling hook).
This is not rock-paper-scissor. He has no real counter for his advantages.
- @Adamonic This is probably the reason we haven't seen more portal maps. Strike at Karkand would go from a condensed ground based map to something akin to SuperMario bros 3 with guns
I'm not gonna say MacKay should be deleted from the game at this stage but he should never have been in it in the first place.
MacScrub is basically like an elite class from BF1, only you can use him all the time.
It's amazing there's only complaints now. I suppose the reason is that half of the player base uses him.
He has no team purpose at all and it's infinitely easier to kill people with MacNeophyte because of his 2x ADS speed.
And if that wasn't bad enough he literally negates the whole map design with his grapple.

As I said, BF1 elite class but too late to change it now.
No problem with any specialist in the game, bar him.
