Marcus' statement saying, "I want to thank the Battlefield community for allowing me to listen to you while I was able".
Kind of sounds like he was listening to our feedback but EA wanted to go in a different direction and he was no longer able to listen to our feedback because it conflicted with EA's "reimagination" of Battlefield?
I wonder if Marcus resigned due to EA forcing him into a creative direction he didn't want to go in or if other reasons played a roll? Unfortunately we may never know due to none disclosure agreements.
That is so true. He is literally saying "while I was able to." it sounds like some sort of dictatorship at EA holy 💩
From my expierneces, I would guess he had a vision/idea for where BF should go next, and it was conflicting with management. So, he just left and didn't want to go their route. That's usually what happens in these cases.
That's so crazy. I remember playing EA games 20 years ago and just loved them. Now that I'm older, I see behind the scenes makes me definitely at times reconsider these publishers 🤔

So many twists and turns to this story. Marcus resigns and now EA is shutting down the studio and laying everyone off.
It sounds to me like there was a major disagreement between Ridgeline's leadership and EA.
It looks like they laid off more than one team.
