@hairy1611 haha it actually does look fairly clean. They have street sweepers and a cleaning crew to pick up debris in the end of the world. God bless those people lol.
@ghinavirus @RayD_O1 @FatherDed Seriously though — I really want to like it but I think ‘empty’ is the best way I can describe the game—not just the streets devoid of signs of ever having life or trash or debris, or buildings devoid of paper or chairs or office equipment—it’s the gameplay itself. Really feels like a pretty, big, empty skin of a gutted experience. I hope it gets better
- @hairy1611 It will be interesting after a week or 2 of playing this game how the community actually feels about 2042. That honeymoon phase will be over.
For me it looks like APEX... Play one round and then quit... why the hell search every round a new game.. its *.. and the whole menu and loadout system is clunky and *..
Also the recoil=? or the bullets?? they onl.y want the cod player.. no bf for me.. the atmosphere is missing...

@hairy1611 I did. Had it pre-ordered. I still find it almost unplayable online. Every time I tried was just frustrating. The only thing I'm doing with it at the moment until it's in an acceptable state is the odd solo round against AI to play around with the guns and loadouts and to get a feel for the maps.
I'm actually quite enjoying solo in a relaxing sort of way. It plays much smoother and you get a feel for what it might be like if/when they sort out the multiplayer. The solo maps seem to be all on smaller versions of the maps - maybe the ones people on last gen consoles are getting. Maybe a clue to the heart of the issue in online play on the full size maps.
The crazy thing is that you still earn XP, rank up, unlock things. Wonder does it contribute to any other stats? It would be insane if it did - against AI, you can rack up 50+ kills to a couple of deaths. It would render any stats utterly meaningless.
Stats aren't my focus but I do like to know, it gives you some kind of measurement about how you're doing. i think that when they do get the game into some sort of shape, they should give people the ability to reset.
One thing I find astonishing is the reviews in press and on YouTube. Very few of them focus on the issues with the game. I'm beginning to think that the xbox version is much worse than other platforms as some people seem to be having no problem and are enjoying it - there's no way they could if it was on xbox.
- @FatherDed Interesting you mention the map size and last gen—I actually found gameplay more enjoyable during the beta when I was limited to 64 players. Would be nice if they adjusted to include smaller mode server selection if they ever include a selection at all
