With the changes that have seemed to improve issues with rubber-banding and frame rates, along with me just playing more and getting used to it, I'm actually enjoying it now and can see a lot of good/potential in it.
I've been as vocal in my criticisms as others up to now and there's obviously still a lot to do but I think in the end it'll turn out to be a great instalment.
I think one of the things that has contributed to me enjoying it more is that I've been mixing in online play with a few rounds solo against AI. It kind of slows things down and gives you the space to learn the maps more and get used to how weapons feel. And the added bonus of being able to unlock attachments for a new weapon (I think there's some sort of cap in place though) without the pain of playing online with a bog standard gun. I was playing with the SVK marksman rifle and it's awesome - 2 shot kill every time.
I think a lot of the criticism and frustration is still valid but it needs to be in perspective and properly directed (I'm not referring to anyone in this thread but more a general point). It's obviously decisions at a high level that caused the game to be pushed out in this state and some of the design decisions as well. Must be crap to be one of the people at DICE who've put their heart and soul into the game for thee past 3 years of their lives to end up being raged at by folk on reddit or where ever.

@hairy1611 Yeah, it's definitely better than it was at first. It's gone from being jaw-on-the-floor bad to it's bad but I can see some core goodness there. On the few times where things have clicked and everythings come together, it's enjoyable. But it still feels like death by a thousand cuts - just so many annoyances and irritations over the course of a round that they completely overshadow the good stuff that's there.
I've been a software developer for 30 odd years now (on stuff much less complex and much more dull than a battlefield game) and know that you can put so much work into something but if you only get it to even 99% complete, none of that effort matters, all people see is the 1% missing/broken.
@RayD_O1 Good question about the KDR (or any other stat), I was wondering the same thing myself. I'd hope it doesn't count otherwise it would render the stat meaningless. Playing solo is definitely not the battlefield experience but I got to say, it's very enjoyable in a soothing, calming sort of way. There's a pleasure to be had from from mowing down 50-60 AI guys like that 🙂 Plus, like I mentioned before it's a quick easy way to unlock goodies for a new weapon.
