Just the love of the game, Kendal. If it is done right, you can feel the sense of being on a team and it can even be even more than that. There is a lot of self driven strategy as well and yes its a very big amount of fun with the chat (before the censoring), in fact that was a huge thing was to read what other people are saying while you are playing the game. It was a signature thing, that's how I would describe it. And I wouldn't even bother posting if I wasn't a hardcore fan of the game, In reality my principles coincide with what's better for the game too. Like I said, I wouldn't even bother posting if I didn't feel like I do as pertaining to the censorship anywhere but in the chat most importantly.
Also a lot of people have big issues on not reading what was said. But they post anyway. I never said that the game should have gore, I respect that from DICE. No, I was talking about blood. That would take care of the gore feature and yes it would make it a lot more immersive as someone put it. Also the blood wouldn't have to be phenomenal or anything, It could be a great service to the game if they could find a way to boost the blood in time, somehow. I did see one thing in the previews where the one guy melee'd the other dude and blood came from his neck right before he snatched his dog tag. That looked good and that's what I am referring to when I mention it. Not necessarily gory but the point got across very well. Also when a player gets killed by a gun, sometimes there should be a spot where he got shot of blood sometimes. Yes much more immersive is what I'm saying, but also like I said it doesn't have to be all the time, just sometimes to make it a big time game. I realize that it would take time to do. All I am asking for is for DICE to consider what I posted as I am only 'looking out' for them and I do want to see the game be a huge success as well as enjoyable for me, the "real" Battlefield fan. lol
There are a lot of BF fans out there, but we don't always agree on everything--as evidenced by some of the forum posts lol. If you enjoy playing the game, and you would recommend it to your friends, you are a fan. Nothing else is needed.
Some people are fans of the aerial combat. Some are fans of sniping. Some people are fans of large maps and vehicular combat. Some people want a chat filter. Some don't. At the end of the day, we're all still fans, in our own ways. Please, don't consider someone else less of a fan--or not a fan, at all--just because their preferences are just a bit different from yours.
I hope you get what you want from the new game, and I hope to see you on the battlefield.
