@Sch1ll1I agree, the way it is now is horrible, you get spotted by proxy balls no matter what you do.
I don't agree about the bfv system though, bf3 did it perfect,the problem is proxy balls.
BF3 had a "broken" spot-system. You more or less just pressed Q and everyone was 3D-spotted.
The audio spot when firing really is awful, why it was brought back to BF is a mystery. Vehicles also benefit a lot from audio spot, which just makes them even more unbalanced against infantry.

The way minimap spotting works is good, it means a trade off between firepower and stealth, the proxy balls right now are 10 times worse than 3d spotting ever was. - @cso7777 I thought BF1's spotting system was the best compromise of all games with no audio spotting and 3d spotting clearing as soon as line of sight was lost. There was also perks that reduced the effect.

Glad I am not alone with my thoughts that the spotting is a bit fishy when you hover over an enemy. I once read a statement that this should be only possible within a 10 meter radius. @Trokey66I'm not a fan of 3D spot, but would take BF1s spotting system over 2042s audio spot any day.
And the proximity mines should be reduced in number and efficiency, I personally spam them a lot, but it still feels stupid.
Having 128 players and being spotted almost all the time, is just a design decision that is stupid beyond belief.

And vehicles show up on the mini map when they or their passengers fire so no-one escapes this.
