@BFPlayer10 Yes, that map was pretty bad for the CRAM with its single helicopter. However, there shouldn't be a manned CRAM at spawn, if there is to be one at spawn it should specifically be an invulnerable, AI CRAM that shoots spotted aircrafts. If it can take damage, it will die. If it is manned, someone who can't aim will enter it.
The spawncamping issue is broader though. Spawncamping can happen from plain infantry (particularly on the new Hourglass, though you can blame this on bad map design). I'm pretty sure no one likes it when large swathes of snipers start accumulating at their own spawn and there's little you can do other than get a sniper rifle yourself. Or TORs at spawn with APSes, or Wildcats at spawn, etc. etc.
Battlebit solved this issue pretty simply - you still have a large spawn area, you're invulnerable in it and you also can't shoot while in it.
Exposure, Spearhead and Manifest are the only maps that come to mind where a CRAM in the middle of the map would probably make sense gameplay-wise and make a difference. On other maps it would either be too exposed and/or cover too much of the map or require 2 at once.
Stationary TOWs are not going to make any difference for anti-air where it's needed. And for anti-ground, they'd be seen more as a bandaid to the still unfixed issue of not giving the M5 more rockets, which still boggles my mind given it should just be a number in a text file.
I don't understand why this person thinks it's acceptable for the meaningful anti-air options to have a high skill floor (and a decent amount of luck that seems to often be ignored?) while having a video playing in the background of him going on a 10+ player killstreak as none of the players turn around. Battlefield is not a competitive franchise. Those players are human beings, who if they keep dying over and over again to helicopters with no way for them to really change that will leave the game. Concur, AA in this game sucks. BF4 had the perfect balance, not to mention the AA mine. I dont see how the time difference between 4 and 2042 there are no longer AA mines.
Add the AA mine, and think it would balance the game alot better then it is now. But they wont, they never listen and since they are Air centric over there, the dont care
- 2 years ago@BackwoodsRaider BF4 balance was far from perfect, but it did have a MAA that could counter a good AH crew. Nothing like that in BF2042. It's like DICE doesnt care about proper counterplay in this game. DICE is more eager to please the twitch and YT streamers that sit in heli's and farm servers.
