Navin Rao is the worst recon in the game and irl (probably)
Disabling the proximity sensor has made it extremely apparent to me just how bad Navin Rao is at the Recon archetype especially compared to the other 2. I am now about 87% certain that the developers did not actually play Ravin Nao and QA did not test Navin Rao in any significant capacity.
With the proximity sensor disabled I have come to realize that Navin Rao is extremely bad at being recon with both his hackpad gadget AND his Trojan Network trait as I have expressed in previous posts Navin Rao is frustrating and unfun to play and Trojan Network is the worst trait in the game and I'll prove it.
I am now almost Mastery 80 with 55 hours exclusively playing Navin Rao only in multiplayer Conquest and Breakthrough and he is by far the worst of the recons due to the way his gadget and trait works compared to the other recons. This part 3 of my trilogy of posts will point out how so much better the other recons are at doing their recon job.
Casper is the obvious recon. Able to stay *far* out of danger with a huge range on his drone. He is safe. He is recon. He doesn't reveal his location while doing his recon job. He is useful to the team in his role. His trait allows him to sense nearby enemies further emphasizing his recon archetype. The only requirement is that enemies be nearby which is likely inevitable.
Paik wall hacks. Enough said. Again, useful to the team in their recon role without having to put themselves in danger. She doesn't reveal her location while doing her recon job. If they happen to come across danger and get shot, enemies get auto-revealed. Neat-o. The only requirement is that she needs to survive being shot once which is further made possible with the armor plating gear.
What makes both of these characters recon is their ease at which they can reveal multiple enemies while normal people could reveal one at a time.
But Navin "freakin" Rao's gadget is so awful that it can rarely be pulled off...it was so bad that I had to use the proximity grenade, a gadget EVERYONE can use, in order to pull of being able to spot multiple enemies which should be easy for a recon archetype. Let me say that again for emphasis. For me to perform like a recon as Ravin Nao I had to rely on gear that any character can use.
Developers... I'm going to keep making posts pointing out how awfully designed Navin Rao is until it shows up in the "known issues" because you really can't tell me that you feel that Navin Rao is in a good or even playable spot...
Check my stats. I'm probably one of the highest mastery Ravin Naos in the game if not the highest (that never made use of XP farming). I'm highly invested in playing this character so I will make noise until you listen, acknowledge the huge design flaws, and fix him.
I was actually happy when you disabled the proximity sensors because now everyone gets to be as bad of a recon as Ravin Nao (except Casper and Paik, of course)
