The weapon damage in the game is incorrect and completely off it's like the developers don't even understand weapons ballistics. If you shoot somebody with a tank gun or 50 caliber machine gun people don't get up from that. You need to refix and recalculate the weapons damage and ballistics for all of your guns, a sniper rifle is not the most powerful weapon in war. This coming from an angry vet
Why is it in battlefield 2042 that I can shoot you several times with a Canon and you won't die you just get hit markers, but you get headshot with a sniper rifle in your dead instantly. Why does battlefield not use correct weapons ballistics?.
Weapon damage is fine, it gives people the ability to still play and not insta die. If tanks were one hit for all shots on infantry we would see the dominance of tanks and other vehicles. Remember this is just a military themed game, not a milsim.

I agree which is another reason my friends and I stay away from AOW and HZ. I don't like the spongy nature of the regular modes (among other things) and why I have always gravitated toward Hardcore options in BF in the past. Its all I would have normally played but since it is not an option in BF2042, I don't play those normal BF2042 modes. .....just Portal which is the only reason I bought this game.
I still think however they should have included a hardcore mode as they have in the past. CoD:MW 2019 was the first CoD title I bought in a long time. All my hours playing were spent in hardcore. It was fun but not "BF" fun. Now, my friends and I are having a blast in Portal but it works for us as we prefer a hardcore co-op / PvE experience. If we were looking to start a hardcore PvP one, that would be a different story.
What? You're saying someone can't get hit with a 50mm 10+ times and still run away?
I wish I could have used Battlfield's realistic repair mechanic on aircraft.

This game needs a whole load of better than only the gunplay.. that for some reason is actually pretty fun, a bit barebones but fun
