Seriously doubt i'd pay for another trinket pass, full of basic cosmetics and soldier skins, while all the good stuff is locked behind the pay wall ingame store!
Also very skeptical about what content will be post season 4, they know this game is on the cliff of abandoment so will say anything imo to cling to the playerbase!
My problem is, regardless of how it plays out, performance, and the lack of a Server Browser and squad management tools are the biggest detractors for me. Once you get to a certain number of maps and weapons, does one more really matter?

@AdamonicFor me the driving force in playing 2042 is that most of my platoon plays it. Otherwise things might had been very different
- RMEChief3 years agoLegend@UP_Hawxxeye just think if you had actual Platoon/Clan functionality and legacy Squad Management tools? Those little things can completely change how you interact and play the game.

@JediMastaWynbased on the initial seasonal content, it was believed that the original Season 1 was broken into 4 seasons, which would make sense based on how small each season was. If not into 4, definitely broken in half. So there is a good chance that there is content already developed that just needs to be updated (ie maps) to meet the new standard.

That's half the amount V ended up with which was also live service.
We absolutely need more base maps than 11 to last us until at least the end of 2024.

New content most likely means new cosmetics. There was nothing about a Season 2, new maps, new specialists or anything else on those lines.
I'm glad to see the game is to be supported post Season 4, because God knows when we'll see the next BF game, so I hope DICE don't ditch 2042 as quickly as they did BFV
What I really want to see is more Portal maps. I cannot believe DICE have not added new classic maps from previous titles, this is such a missed opportunity.

I totally agree with you, Portal is being under utilised which is disappointing.
I had such high hopes for Portal which sadly have not materialised thus far. ☹️

And its only 1/3 of the total maps we had in previous BF games like BF1 and BF4 !
Very illustrative of the substantial length EA/DICE have gone to run this as absolutely cheap bare bones as possible.

1 map every 3 months over 4 maps every 3 moths with premium
