New Feature: "XP boosts"
They're included in the Battle Pass.
XP boosts will be consumed as soon as you earn them.
The timer will only count down while you're actively in a match.
Duration: Rare: 1 hour, Epic: 3 hours.

I wouldn't consider that new, maybe a reworked feature. I remember BF4 had those, 3 tiers actually. 25,50 and 100 percent xp boost. You would get them randomly in battle packs that you unlock progressing through classes and weapons. Only difference is that 4, you could select them during a match ' only one active at a time ' and they lasted for x amount of time, usually an hour.
I appreciate the timer only going down while you play; I'm pretty sure BF4 boosts activated whenever you wanted but counted down in real time
Bf4 boosts were also squad boosts rather than solo of i recall correctly.
I think they were both, like if you were just soloing, it still effected you but if you were in a squad. It would effect the whole squad. Which was kind of cool..
BF4 boosts are the only reason I'm max rank in that game. It was my first console FPS and I didn't start playing until mid-2015. I.E. trash K/D
- @ace_wolf08 You guys are right, it was a squad boost. The best one was the 200%. When I quit I still had lots of the 25%, used all the others first. Too bad these 2042 ones are less likely to be as prolific. Good to see them back.
I don't think I ever got 1 200 lol..maybe one time.
They were both squad base and individual as well.

Will it not make completing the battle pass even faster?
I thought the pacing in the battle pass was pretty good to be fair.
Are the boosters in place at the expense of actual content?
Wouldn't the alternative to reduce the point required per tier 🤔
