I noticed in update 4.0, the melee animation was reworked. Its a lot faster compared to update 3.0, much better dice. It still need some work, i'd like to be able to grab the enemy from the side and perform my takedowns etc, similar to Battlefield 4 & 5. Hopefully, this is in the May update.
Completely agree. The takedowns in BF 3 and 4 were great. In 2042 I fail to grab them about 90% of the time.
@DuaneDibbleyPersonally instead of takedowns I find myself taking swings at people during ultra close quarter fights.

The takedowns are more of a means of humiliation killing.

Didn't we have those stupid counter-knife animations in BF4? Do you really bring that nonsense back?
I guess it is a matter of taste, but I did not like them.

How often do you need a melee takedown? Most often it is much easier to shoot people. This is not a stealth game and melee rarely makes sense.
