  • Hi @osi6 I'd give it a go for sure. Although, I do think that the VIP should be the one with a basic gun and the bodyguards should be strapped.

In a way it sounds familiar to a mode in a different game, but I can't quite put my finger on which one.

If you played Team Fortress Classic, there was a VIP mode where the VIP had an umbrella and had to get them to the extraction point. Man that was good times 20+ years ago!

TLDW, why it didn't work for TF2's case: No heals and very boring to play. Bad VIP player might also be a concern?
Payload is essentially a VIP escort gamemode with the downsides removed.
TF2 Classic is a somewhat alive sourcemod that has the civillian added back in... And he is indeed not very fun.
This kind of gamemode also existed in CS 1.6.

For Battlefield, lack of heals would be a lesser concern due to regen and medics being fun to play but bad VIP players might be a bigger concern given just how bad players I've seen (e.g. shooting at the front of a tank with a gun). Though shounic's players are also probably a fair bit better than the average TF2 player. Boring to play will definitely be a concern. Think to yourself, how often do you see actually good transport vehicle players with good weapons? Similarly, the needed removal of the 40mm from the wildcat.

If the VIP is to be playable, turning it into a strong vehicle instead of an unarmed dude could work, but I'm not sure how much fun that would still be to play as not progressing too fast is fundamental to a VIP mode. Maybe something like versus Saxton Hale but he also has buddies? I didn't play too much BF1, from what I've seen the behemoths didn't work out super well...

  • No offence intended, but, the title of this post is somewhat misleading. I makes it look as though you are offering a new game mode as in the post with operation tunnel
