It looks like Dice keeps on making some of the hardest to balance decisions regarding game-design. Why make a gun that actually is more or less 3 guns in one?
We will have to wait and see what happens, but this could be another case of overpowered then to be nerfed gun.
But having the gun doing damage to at least the light helis (nightbird, stealth heli) is actually a plus for me. In real life a heli like the nightbird is pretty vulnerable to (at least) high caliber weapons and while the game is not realistic in any way, having more counters to helis is not a bad thing.
To be fair, any aircraft is more or less vulnerable to firearms fire, even light arm fire ' assault rifles, machine guns, etc ' if they are low enough. Hueys, Blackhawks, etc have been known to get riddled with holes on a bad mission. Pilots, Co pilots and crews gave been also shot up before by nothing more but AK fire.
So really, all weapons in this game technically should do damage to the aircrafts. I would go so far as having a damage fall off depending on the distance, what weapon you are hitting it with and even where you are hitting it.
Like, are you just hitting the bird or is your round hitting the pilot or other passengers? Are your rounds just passing through the shell or are they hitting the engines or rotors?
