OP You ask why - Respawn made Apex Legends a hero shooter out of the Titanfall husk, made it f2p and EA made $3.4 billion selling skins. Thats why EA directed DICE to try and replicate Apex's success in 2042 with an Apex/COD/Warzone hybrid. Didn't work out.
If EA wanted this scheme to succeed they shouldn't have called it "Battlefield" per se and should have launched this game as an entirely new franchise, as a spin-off

Yeah, BF2042 should've been Battlefield: Specialists or something like that, similar to Hardline. I think it would've been better received that way. Instead we got deceived.
All the new games have characters lately, just look at xDefiant. Little kids like the colors and skins.

Are we talking about Delta Force : Hawk Ops ??

- Lady_One1 year agoNew Ace@b0gart-555 I'd hope not because I don't see that game in as much of a negative light, at least not now. I wish Battlefield had more competition. World War 3 flopped, IMO Battlebit isn't that great. I hope Delta Force puts some pressure on EA to make a better game.
