Teamwork shooter sounds great on paper, but really difficult to make work.
1) I think you have to accept that a large portion of the player base just isn't going to be interested in teamwork. DICE would need a system that would identify those players interested in teamwork and squad them together.
2) With Battlefield being a sandbox shooter there's going to be a lot of incompatible playstyles. Those squads of 'teamwork' players would also have to take into consideration playstyle compatibility.
3) People have different motivations/strategic goals. Some people just want action, kills, KDR. Some people just want to work on some specific achievement/Battlepass progress. Some people actually want to win the game - perhaps by prioritizing backcapping or central objectives. So your squad of teamwork minded players with compatible playstyles also needs to be on the same page with their motivations/goals ...and how they go about achieving those goals.
I've played enough Battlefield over the years to have had the pleasure of playing on squads that click on all of these areas. 10/10 fun. Some of my best memories.
I'm not really sure how to solve all the problems above, but I don't think throwing gadgets/points at the problem will be enough. Maybe some future Battlefield game will have an intelligent squadmaking system that keeps a profile on each player and throws compatible squadmates together.
GOD NO, NO INTELLIGENT MATCHMAKING FGS!!!
Just look at MW2019. Every game became almost copy-and-paste. Literally algoryth is working "so good", that is gathering "compatible squadmates (players) together", that every match plays the same.
Unless you will reverse boost yourself back to kindergarten lobbys.
What BF needs instead is good tools for making small communities or groups of players gathering and playing together. Platoons/clans sytem, auto suggeting last teammates for invitation for playing together.
INSTEAD OF MM - work over teambalancer.
Actually, Battlefield could get a second wind, thanks to whole BR craziness. Those games also shows their true potential in squad-based matches.
But 2042 screwed it up by reducing tools for squad menagement... not talking about rest of mistakes they made.

I'm not asking for SBMM.
I'm suggesting that instead of randomly assigning people to squads - that is after the players have already been assigned to a server - that the game would assign players to squads based on compatible playstyles.
A player who shows a history of repairing tanks/sitting in the gunner seat should be matched with a tanker main.

- DICE needs to remove any resemblence of the XP system for good
- reintroduce platoons with in depth management system as well as all the squad systems from BF4/BF1 without any "reinventing"
- redesign specialists like McKay, Sundance, Paik, etc. to actually have a teamplay aspect to them because as the game is atm the only teamplay orientated specialists are Falk,Angel,Casper and to a degree Crawford
- in general specialists did everything but promote teamplay so to the bin with the entire system
- RSP with persistent servers in portal
if DICE would actually give to flicks about the game they would at least attempt to addess these issues. yet any human who can objectively look at this game will come to the same conclusion...DICE has little to no intrest in fixing 2042 they will do the absolute minimum required of them and then maybe one last update with everything that didn't make the seasons like they did in BFV and try and make everyone forget this game ever existed and pray the entire community has severe memory issues and forgets 2042 ever existed...

Animations are garbage, movement speed is too fast like Call of Duty games.
Graphic details are not as good as in Battlefield V.
Specialist system needs to be removed in the next Battlefield game.
I uninstalled the game yesterday, never to play again.
Battlefield V is a much better game than this game as gameplay. - Akva-ucci_Tirsat3 years agoRising Scout
So we need
- Attitude change by promoting teamwork in marketing and by content creators.
- Game mechanics and philosophy rewarding and supporting teamwork and communication.
- Soldier classes brought back
- Scoring system rewarding playing near objectives.
- Squadmaking system assigning like-minded playing preferences into squads in a pre-lobby before match starts.
- Squad management
- Platoon support and Platoon servers
- Persistent servers and server browser
- Teambalancer which properly balances teams before and during match.
