Yes it is. Shooting ranges are typically close 0-20m, medium 20-50m, long range 50-100m, I distinctly remember this from BF4's shooting range where there furthest targets were at approximately 100m.
Anyway, I don't think it's right for an SMG to go full auto and be able to hit all shots at 50m or an AR/LMG full auto lasering you at 80m, which happens to me very frequently in this game. When I used those weapons myself it was way too easy to go full auto and keep crosshairs on a distant target, even when they run around. I am not saying that SMG/AR/LMG's shouldn't be able to hit someone at long range, but it should be a lot more difficult than it is now.

now back to in game, i want to see a vid of someone lighting you up at full auto (not tap fire) at 80m with an smg
- @Psubond all these video game kids who have zero clue about ballistics or firearms in general, if they REALLY knew how accurate firearms like Rifle platforms were as RL Counterparts out to 500-750, 1000m and beyond actually were. they would not even play the game if it did not have actual RNG Spread for each shot.
my best infantry on infantry shot was BF4 - Firestorm 1918.6m corner to corner. nearly 1826.9m with the Cheytac SRR-61, in BF3's Firestorm - 1918.16m in the same setup, just with the M98B.- @AOD_CapStar362 Ah, the good old "IRL" argument. Can't argue with that...
