@VRACinque The fact we have specialists that look exactly the same on both sides makes hardcore almost impossible. Prior to launch there was talk of slightly different colours for each team, but that does not seem to have made it through.
On Portal you can set the game to the old team types, so hardcore is possible (just very limited progression). On official servers with 2042 setups, you would have no idea which side someone is on and they will not backtrack on the specialist system now (the latest COD Modern Warfare dealt with it by having different specialists for each side, BF2042 didn't go that way).
They seem to have decided to tell us how we should play and removed hardcore along with many other features of what we thought made Battlefield Battlefield.
There has been a compete disconnect with many "veteran" players as they chase ex Fortnite and COD players that like paying for cosmetics.
Diversity is no more an option in BF games. The competitive part has been removed totally with no scoreboard (my KD is good ?? how'd you know ?)
The previous BF's had all kinds of community driven servers for each players taste, If it could be made, you could be sure someone shared your taste and made it.
But not anymore .... Play the game like EA wants you to do it .....
@Rusty Rat well more than limited if we must say so. The progression lock kinda force us to go normal if we want to do anything.
Regarding the aspect of discerning friend from foe, the cosmetiv (imo) doesn't justify anything. Sure they all look the same, but even in HC we had the blue ATH above teammate.
