I'm enjoying the new game, it's core battlefield combined arms gameplay with new vehicles, gadgets and maps.
The negative reaction to the game is hysterical and it's spread like a cancer especially on the reddit sub.
It just seems to be the way it is now for every battlefield release.
All the normal expected issues that happen with a new battlefield game like hit reg, server lag, optimisation, weapon and vehicle balance are being blown up and used to attack Dice and the "evil EA corporation".
The vocal minority hated the BFV reveal trailer, with some valid justification and they've carried this grudge throughout BFV's first year or so and are now using every opportunity to carry on with this grudge with BF2042.
The specialists of BF2042 are this games woman with robotic arm.
None of what I say matters, the mob is alive and well and nothing will sate them apart from time.
Give it a year or so and they will move on and the people who truly enjoy battlefield games will continue to enjoy the game until the next release when the exact same hateful mob mentality will reappear.

- @zakrocz the only thing that makes this a battlefield game in comparison, not counting portal, is it has a conquest mode and vehicles. Other than that it's Apex legends all the way down to some animations and even the specialist. This is hardly a Battlefield game.
Really this is pointless. They either dont read posts esp. post launch. That "Community manager" dude NEVER replies to anything. Imagine having one job and its to chat with fans. You know, the gamers who buy your game? I see random tweets on twitter. They dont help as they are always vague.
Its a bit like CDPR - they dont communicate with their fan base after that terrible launch. And while they still made money, i would not buy another game from them. So damage done.
These calls, letters etc its a waste of time. The game is what it is ATM. It will get better. Some things will get added but the specialist are now the core of the game so they surely cannot get rid of them. Maybe the next one will return to its roots....
@Buzzfunk well said, I certainly get that this is most likely pointless but there is an off chance that someone from DICE or EA may see this and one of two things could happen; they say "meh, get over it nerd" or they get fired up about it. I'm not looking for a DICE or EA person to reply, I'm hoping they just gleam through it and get the points attempting to be made. I really hope that the game goes back to what makes it Battlefield - if DICE wants to make a different game, that's great! Go make that new thing and get a new IP going! Don't try to force change to an IP that's been established for almost 20 years at this point. 4 things make a battlefield game - vehicles, map size, classes, and community. Sure I don't like specialist but that's really a small complaint compared to the lack of community that can come from this game when compared to previous titles. Battlefield is boring to play alone, and it most certainly is just not the same when you're on your own.
- @ATF_CatButt I'm around level 1600 on Apex so yeah thousands of hours. I do not get why people keep saying BF2042 is Apex. It isn't even close for me. BF2042 has been a welcome change to my gaming sessions. Yes, the menus are bad but the gameplay is fun and a welcome big change to what I'm used to.
- @zakrocz I do not agree with anything you wrote... I've been playing BF since 1942 and like many many many ppl already stated, this doesn't feel like Battlefield at all
- @White_NoaiM Lol, so have I, I took part in all of the old Wake Island betas and I've enjoyed every release since then.
I think it plays like a battlefield game and that's all that really counts because I'm the one playing not you or the old vet.
I've seen the same old complaints about "this isn't battlefield" since BC2 came out on PC.
Every release same old complaints.- @zakrocz Well I can say the same, Im the one playing too and it sucks... And I did'nt see or hear nearly close as much negativity as this launch. I have been enjoying myself with every BF game leading up to BFV
Anyways, I respect your opinion and good for you that you enjoy the game. Too bad there aren't much of that
@zakroczI didn’t know that on launch 50-80 FPS on a 2080ti was to be expected. Is that in the patch notes?

- @JRiv_Eagle Yea it’s disappointing. My gpu usage was as low as 30 percent earlier. My cpu sits between 50-60. Nothings being used it seems like. Don’t understand why lmao. What cpu do u have?
- @zakrocz If 2042 played like BFV with flight mechanics of BF4 I wouldn't complain. Problem is..it doesn't on either account. It is a bad game. Maps are vast but barren of features. It doesn't have the charm of BFV at all. Being able to fortify destructible features would add a lot to 2042 in my opinion.
I am on the verge of requesting a refund because this game is poorly done. Can they fix it? Not even sure it's possible. Heli mechanics and physics are just stupid and all the issues have been mentioned more times than I need to rehash it. Very true. The Reddit mob acts like this with every Battlefield release. There are even some people over there calling BF V (which they hated when it came out) a good game now.
@zakroczI disagree, BF4 was the last BF game I actually sunk hours into, and I just refunded BF2042 because of the bugs and missing team elements (VOIP, squad assignments, revive system is awful, can't see what my gunner is looking at in vehicles, can't see what anyone else in my squad is using to fill missing roles, crap XP for teamwork items, can't take over an inactive squad leader), etc, etc. Many of these things aren't 'bugs', they are clear design choices that significantly obliterate cooperative capability.
I'll give them kudos for AI, but they should capitalize on showing people how USEFUL teamwork can be by having AI go out of their way to revive you, give you ammo, etc, they're as ignorant as cod players.
- @RaZentT No VOIP lmao. Can’t join other friends in game, bugs bugs bugs…this is 6-9 months from when it should have been released in a closed beta, imo.
- @JRiv_Eagle I've always been baffled that they've always had an extremely short open beta with no room for true feedback from veteran players. "The beta is already outdated when it was released", well, wtf is the point of testing it then?
- @zakrocz i disagree, the most people that are mad this time are the bf fans. this game strays far from a bf game. It not just the normal broken launch but also tons of features just straight removed from the game. i mean damn they didnt even put in a scoreboard. just straight lazy
okay, except there's no browse feature. I'm literally * stuck to playing 128 man conquest, or rush... no small maps, only portal, which thanks to people XP farming, got completely gimped from being able to enjoy TDM, or smaller maps... this is 60% filler garbage that isn't BF at all, mixed with a few ideas from call of duty, overwatch, etc. I'm enjoying it to a point, but being absoLUTELY gutted via no browser to be able to enjoy official servers or hosted servers under their rules* SUCKS. I DO NOT want to play the whooping 2 options I have to play, but it's currently the only way to level up and progress, which I 100% want to do. I hate that PC gamers keep having to give up ground to console / casual type gamer *.

Endless lines of streamers and videos have proved this game has problems beyond fixing.

I'm sure you meant to say "the people who are willing to accept anything that's given to them as long as its called 'progress', who don't know how to think critically about anything."
I don't care about technical issues, those are always fixed with time. There is just so much left out basic features that we have had for 20+ years that are now suddenly left out without reason, and bad design decisions that are clearly just copied from other games without even given a thought whether they work in BF or not that EA/DICE have earned every bit of criticism given their way.
And what is battllfiield to you ? Basttlefield classes have change and trade abilitys and so on for decades over X and Y ... Classes are not core to BF and that you magically transformed into an engineer by picking a weapon on the ground made no sens then and make no sens now ..
Battlefield core is COMBINE ARMS gameplay and they have delivered 10xtimes on this with the 128 players with more vehicles more players bigger maps etc..
Pretending this aint Core battlefield is ridiculous , this hate campaign of fanatics against the specialist also make no sens ... all DIce need to do is to had an icon that represent wich gadjet peoples are equipped this way we will know what the specialist or classes subclass are able to do but also if they have medpacks , Amo , repair tool , rockets etc..
BFBC supports were Medics and engineers at the same time and could call automated mortars and there was a dedicated demolition classe with shotgun and rocket ...
You want to create a class ? Then make it for F sake .. you want a pure Engineer ? Take a SMG , a Repair tool and Boris and call it a day
