Flares need to come back slower, sure, but the helicopters in BF4 were way more powerful. They have a solid place here and can be incredibly dangerous in the hands of a good pilot. I also enjoy the stinger damage, you can punish pilot mains and not have them survive the entire match like you can in BF3/BF4/BF1/BF5. I think their low health pool was a great idea. They're not tanks, they're air vehicles. You do know that bullets take down helicopters very frequently in real life, right? Not to say this game is realistic, but even an armored helicopter couldn't take 2000 7.62 or 400 .50 BMG cartridges and just fly away and hide behind a hill for a minute. Stingers having only a 400 meter range also makes it so a helicopter can just climb and be impervious to locks. If anything, bring back ECMs. You hit them, it stops the lock and you can leave the area. But if you stay, the lengthy comeback timer will drop you. Orbital is the perfect map for helicopters with plenty of places they can hide and dip behind cover. Air should be a skill based vehicle system for once. Praise the good pilots. I was able to just pick up a littlebird in BF4 and go wild with it on day one. It didn't seem right.
