Own vs Subcription

What's the difference between owning a game or subscribing to EA Play (or Gamepass) infinitely?  I ask this, especially for BF 2042. It's free with EA Play right now but will it stay free? Is it l...

    Hi there, @hacklesz 

    Games come and go from EA Play and we normally announce in advance when a game is leaving. When a game is removed from EA Play, it is no longer playable without being purchased.

Always own, never subscribe. Nothing is ever 'free' and you won't get anything back when they delist it.
