Don't really see much of a problem with the spot putting her on the map too. It might actually be a decent tradeoff.

that's the way it used to be but they changed it in the most recent patch

Good to know @Psubond. I rarely play her and must have missed it in the notes.

Probably because hardly anyone was picking her.
If your location is also being revealed to the enemy you've just spotted it stands to reason that it will demotivate players picking her.
But now i see her all the time in my squad screen so maybe its a bit too good now!
Personally I find the trait useful in seeing where enemies are but because they often start moving as soon as they become aware Paik has spotted them it's not that easy to then kill them.
Plus if you spot multiple enemies and they are all moving it just overwhelms the senses and you end up dying anyway.
