PC flight controller

Hello,

For those PC pilots, what hardware do you have for flight controls?

Thanks.

  • @skates15 I always do keyboard and mouse, feels the best to me, but I up the FOV and sensitivity so I can sway the heli left and right to dodge missiles, and I always fly with a mix of first and third person.

  • @skates15i have the Logi X-56 but it does not work with 2042 - works with BFV and BF1, prior titles did not work either, but thats understandable for much older titles. its missing 2 files need for Multi-Input Flight to work properly as a FULL HOTAS.

Been hounding DICE since day 1 of 2042 to fix this.

Yeah, I was looking for a HOTAS solution, and good looking out on keyboard and mouse, I'll try that and up FOV.

@L3tH4l3rR0rsee, i cant do KBM for flight, i have actual flight experience as a PPL holder. so its basically muscle memory and converting actual flight time to the game.

And trust me, i have TRIED relentlessly to fly KBM, the inability to give PRECISE constant correction to aim a gun pod or rocket salvo at long range, ruins it for me when i can just barely nudge my rudder or whatever control input up to straight up yeeeting my aircraft to oblivion!

Even a controller, which i have a 360XE Elite controller, just doesn't cut it for me.  I play many other games with Flight - ARMA 3, War Thunder ( which was DESIGNED for KBM Flight ), lots more.  for BF4,3,BC2, BF2, BF2142 and BF1942 - the Thrust Master TopGun and the Saitek ( before bought out by Logitech ) X-52 was my setup.  they used a single USB Input, but the X55/56 series uses dual inputs, and 2042 will not work with that.   the Stick works fine,  but the throttle half, makes the game work like a 360 Controller, and the X56 WILL NOT work with Joystick Gremlin or vJoy.

The X56 is unique - it even causes 2042 to Crash more than half the time when I attempt to bind buttons and axis' to the game,  it HARD LOCKS to the point I have to hit my Hard Reset button on my case.  and 2042 is the only game that gives me this problem.

  • @skates15Any capable pilot will just use M&K with a variety of different settings.

There isn't some magical juice that makes helis/jets do some "Top Gun" level maneuvers. Its all basic controls that are more responsive with a mouse

@UP_LordPlumber Okay, thanks, wasn't looking for juice, just input on what is being used, I realize K/M or HOTAS takes practice.

@skates15 Basically the only JS that works in 2042 is the Logitech 3D. Only older sticks seem to work. My X52 won’t, nothing HOTAS. Even programming the Logitech is a chore, and will take some trial and error. Once set, don’t forget to back up your profile if you’re on PC. It’s a pain to set up so you’ll only want to do it once.
