Yeah, it’s just a theory. I’m definitely not trying to convince anyone to pick one input device over another. There was a time when I played with a console and a gamepad, too.
Just look at it this way, if the competitiveness of this game was about skill, we would all do whatever we could to be the fastest gun in the West. And in FPS games (the ones that don’t offer aim assist and first-shot multipliers. and increased or decreased Time to Kill based on your input device or system), it is about who’s faster. But, 2042 just simply isn’t‘ really a skill-based title. It’s a “we need to sell games” title. It’s about how many copies of the game EA/DICE can sell and unfortunately for PC players, we have to suffer through the handicap.
Just give me BFV with anti-cheat. Loved that game and hackers ruined it.
As for the rest, yeah, you're right. The foundation of the problem seems to be crossplay, regardless if a game is geared towards arcade or mil-sim. There is an inherent mechanical disadvantage to playing a controller against K&M; I don't think by now anyone disagrees with this assertion. So compromises need be made when a dev. company decides to embrace crossplay. Thus now here we are and none of the sides (K&M, Controller) are happy.

I think that Consol Aim Assist is a way over done and could be reduced by at least 25 percent in an effort to make it even with M&K , keep in mind that PC Players with a good setup plays with a lot more graphics on the screen compared to Consol which sort of puts a PC player at a disadvantage .
