Is anything being done about this? I reported numerous people that was actually using aimbot but not convinced that anything is being done about it.
Also what about the numerous aimbot programs that currently can't be detected by Easy Anti-cheat, etc.? There are websites and youtube videos all about them and recent too
How do you know its aimbot?, what kind of behaviour should we be looking out for?
I don't claim to be a good player, in fact probably fairly average but some of the stuff I've done even makes me wonder if anyone's reported me haha
Look at why people cheat in games like this... My hunch is on progression and unlocks. Since there isn't much to progress on and "unlocks" are kinda, well... meh, there isn't much of a reason to cheat in BF2042. Other times, I assume, it is due to an unhealthy amount of competition. Don't get me wrong, being competitive is what this game is about but not so much that you need an advantage over your teammates and your opponents.
While I haven't played as much as Stew360, I haven't personally experienced a cheater in this game. BFV on the other hand was my first real wakeup call on obvious cheaters. I once triggered a guy into turning on his cheat because I pestered him in chat so much and I recorded it. Another time, one player was typing while dominating the server with the Lewis Gun LMG. He outright admitted to using it for months and he has to actually stop the bot from moving forward or it will get so far ahead that he ends up being killed several times. He mentioned how he had little interaction with the software doing it all for him. Crazy I think. But it won't be long and the thread will be locked.
Personally I think the anti-cheat in this game is more about hiding it by not allowing a full scoreboard. If I jump into any BF game and I see someone with an outrageous KDR, I don't even bother and just assume its not good and I leave.
I haven't personally come across many situations where I felt an aimbot was being used in BF2042.
Having said that it's almost impossible now to monitor the situation as we have no proper scoreboard as the above poster referred to.
In previous BF's it was easy to tell when there was blatant cheating going on.
You could watch a particular players score go up every second as they went to ridiculous score like 100 kills within minutes of the round starting.
Without this ability it is much harder if not impossible to spot cheaters now unless you personally encounter them during the round.
