You get "+" response and its happy days farming from now on.

In BF2042 its especially annoying to dogfight since there are so many other factors that ruin otherwise fair experience - Overpowered Wildcat, overpowered TOR(Not anymore SoonTM), annoying Lissiles, hitscan rocket launchers, ex Microsoft support scammer trying to hack your vehicle etc etc etc...

It's a way to make already terrible gameplay design a little more enjoyable for at least 10-15 minutes.

This is pretty much my experience of being an infantry player at the moment.  Downing OP air vehicles requires too much co-ordinated team work - which basically doesn't happen in random matchmaking - as there is no incentive, and people just can't be bothered or are too focussed on ground vehicles and other infantry.  It's basically too hard - air vehicles are moving too fast and it requires a few people with exactly the right loadout using comms to do anything effective. 

The only effective counter to air vehicles (thanks to DICEs constant buff of anything that may damage a helo) are other air vehicles, but as described above - they usually don't even bother attacking enemy vehicles, because it's much easier and more satisfying to farm defenceless infantry.  DICE need to do something to address this, either through penalising pilots somehow, or giving infantry the power to fight back without the need for a "perfect team" of other players.

And soon we can’t even hack enemy aircraft and force them to withdraw for a little while, it seems.

I've found it exceptionally rare to end up on the opposite team any time I try to join a full squad/server of friends. Maybe 2-3x over the entire time playing. I think it happens far more often on Portal servers rather than normal queue though.

Instead, you are causing them modular damage which can make it harder for them to escape or even crash

Agree,this is a big problem that goes all the way back to BF3.Something has to be done about these pilots who ignore enemy planes and kinda work with them.I would quite happily blow my own team mates out of the sky for doing this.

I think if they are friends that end up on opposite teams they do this frequently OR even worse give up tanks and helis to their friends on the other team.

Happened on a game I played a few days ago whilst its funny its bad more so lets say reclaim breakthrough and your attacking with no vehicles.

I encountered this Yesterday on a EU PS5 server.
2 of those notorious flyboy sweats that I've encountered several times on their own were now in the same server. They were not befriended as otherwise you would open up a PSN party and do your communication via there. Instead they were communicating via the in-game text chat. As they were on opposite sites it was for all to see, how stupid can you be?

They started of the match by stating which vehicle they each got. It was clear they would not go after eachother. They kept on chatting and one of them was mocking a player from a previous match that commented to him, which he farmed so hard (his literal words). 
At the end of the game the non aggression pact became even more clear, both topping the scoreboards for their team with insane scores from farming infantry. One of em ran 54-0 and the other had a 74-5 score or something like that.

How frustrating it is sometimes to come up against a good pilot, I'm ok with it and respect it. But only if it is truly skill based. But the type of behaviour described above I do NOT condone. Hence I reported the player that was on my team.

If your such a good pilot what better way to boost your ego than to go after that ace from the other team and 1v1 him?

When I play Haven now, 100% of my time is dedicated to shooting down the enemy’s Nightbird.

Out of principle 😃

This shouldnt be a problem because the game has this perfect counters against helis and jets /s
