Players who don't actually want to play.

To clarify, what is up with people joining into match gamemodes and then just...not playing the mode properly? I had six consecutive matches tonight with a team (which is shuffled each round no less) that could not, or would not, do the very basics of a Battlefield match. Medics not reviving, people ignoring enemy vehicles that were parked up. In the sole attacking match they sat a foot away from the enemy flag zones instead of going in. When defending they also sat everywhere but on the flags. You have people with enough rank and time ingame to know what they should be doing just not bothering to revive you two feet away from them.

When you tell people things you're just hit back with trolls and abuse and then they decided they're going to sabotage the match because you had the audacity to point things out to them. So I really want to know why these people are even playing in the match, and why they seem to be lumped into one team (frequently mine). Enemy team is behaving like a hive mind, especially with relation to anti-vehicle work, firing salvos of rockets and missiles by seemingly random players with no association, whilst mine is just letting enemy vehicles park up and fire at will.

One player said 'I'm not here to play objective, just fun.' Except rounds like these are not fun. There is no back and forth, you're just getting trounced at every sector. If they want that, they should stick some TDM. It really does feel like COD players trying to play COD in a BF game.

Just don't get it.

@mrtwotimesI don't agree that we have to "force" people into one playstyle. Players can be extremely useful for the team in many different ways and playstyles.

Its just that people are actively playing against the game rather than with the game.

An example is long-range snipers. Sitting 700m in the back, getting killed by enemy snipers again and again. Getting less than 5 kills a game, 0 objectives captured, 0 points for the team.

These people are playing the wrong game. There are other games that welcome this type of gameplay. Tarkov, Arma, even Warzone where you can take a sniper and camp somewhere on the hill sniping others 1000m away.

Also these guys. I mean, what the F are they thinking?

  • I'll be honest I'm one of the ones that don't play the nordvik or whatever its called mode properly coz its just the same map over and over and I just want to unlock the skins so i end up just droning until max intel and wingman ribbon then i start playing it properly but normally by that time its over it's quite boring really but maybe they could change each unlock like 10 kills for1 skin, 5 revives for 1 and 1 point capture for one i reckon if they did it like that at least for that game mode ppl will play more

@Moab23 Isn't that obvious, xp are nearly irrelevant after reaching the silly levels. The whole progression system is centered around kills, there is nothing that requires you to win a round of any mode.
So the currency that keeps the game running is kills, and since TDM is a recent addition to the play lists, everyone gets the kills in the objective based modes. And most matches are decided by less than 10 players on the map. The side with more PTFO players then wins.
That is also the reason why people believe that premade squads ruin the matches.

Had a few matches the other day where somehow, every Irish on the enemy team was throwing down APS units in front of their vehicles to protect them from rockets. They did this throughout the entire match, on three different matches. I've seen this happen before, but never ever on my team. Its always the enemy team that does this. So no matter where their vehicle was attacking from, the APS was be up in front of it. Same for enemy EM tanks camping at the back of the map to shoot down aircraft. In addition to many of them being super questionable in always landing that first shot, when you go to take them out you'll suddenly have a bunch of players with Stingers or Wildcats emerge to instantly defend it, which also does not happen for me.

@Kona_uk I do believe, you miss out a lot of vehicle game play. Sometimes it is the player that actually is experienced in handling your 60mm mortar, spotting enemies, protect your vehicle with aps shootdown systems, shoot down incoming rockets, or repair your vehicle.
That is how the vehicles were designed and balanced in the first place.
But I am happy not to help, when a vehicle moves to the back border of the base area.

I play to level up all the specialist and weapons, this often means using unsuitable weapons for assaulting flags, so I stay on the outskirts looking to stop enemy troops spawning and defending the flag. It's a painful grind using crap weapons against the meta.

I have yet to level up Falck as I expect team players will want me to follow them across the open ground to revive them. I will revive if I can without being killed needlessly. There is so much open ground in the game, either killed by sniper, shot from multiple angles, shot by a tank from across the map or rained upon by helicopters.
