as all hardcore recon/sniper players know, we always had the marksman bonus XP which is the same amount XP as the head shot distance.for example, a 500m headshot will give additional 500 XP to the player along the 50 XP for the kill which is awesome because long range snipers are not going to score as much as other players who are playing in close range combats due to the fact that it's harder to headshot enemies at longer ranges.if you are a Sniper/Recon player and love doing long range or just enjoy the satisfaction of a headshot from distance (this bonus XP will add to that satisfaction), please join the call and ask for "marksman bonus" because so far, it is missing in the Battlefield 2042.ONCE AGAIN, PLEASE! we need Marksman Bonus XP

@gertjun There are many ways to solve this issue1. there can be fixed amount of XP for long range headshots, for example: any headshot between 100-300m gain 100xp. headshots between 300-500m can get 200xp, and anything beyond 500m can gain 300xp max.2. xp gained at the amount of distance of the headshot divided by 2. for 500m headshot the xp will be 250.there are many different ways to control the XP gained by players, but removing this rule entirely is not pleasing at all.

@Majordemon_lord then what's the point of having snipers in the game? do you mean developers wasted so much time making the snipers and building different attachments like 10x scope?

you really need to think about others too and not just yourself, if you don't like snipers, find a way to stay safe from them or be smart and out play them. and as mentioned, long range snipers don't score as frequent as others. plus, there are other ways to limit it, like reduce the score or add conditions to it and not just removing it entirely.

Mmmhh, came on this topic because I wanted to know this as well. My thoughts on this: great distance shots are not as rewarding and should receive a marksman bonus. However, big marksman bonusses will create an incentive to play sniper and less people will PTFO. For now, I am inclined to adhere the latter argument. Off-topic; maybe needs a separate topic, where are squad bonus points? Like +100xp for reviving a squad member vs. +50xp for reviving a team member, same for healing/resupplying/repairing/spotting/etc.

The 'headshot range =XP' was patched out during BF4 if I remember correctly, never to return thankfully although there may have been a capped bonus but again, I am old and have slept several times since then.....

@Trokey66 I'm not sure if it's patched out because I recently played BF4 and BF5 few months ago and they still had marksman bonus xp which is how a sniper can see the exact distance he/she achieved the headshot.

Something else that's missing from 2042, it's there in BFV and is pretty cool to see exactly how far your headshot was and actually get rewarded for it accordingly. IIRC my PB in BFV was 888m (headshot) in a live public lobby, not setup with a mate or anything.

@Trokey66 Marksman Bonus was original a distance related bonus for a head shot with an bolt action rifle, which then was reduced to a fixed 25xp. The idea was to get the snipers into the objectives. Before a couple of long distance head shots gave enough points to lead the score boards.

I think BF1 had an additional Counter Sniping bonus, when you sniped a sniper.

But I agree a distance bonus is a bad idea.

@kregora I think the 25xp you are talking about was just for the headshot in addition to the marksman bonus xp.

you could get 50xp for the kill
then 25xp for the headshot
and then something like 200xp for the 200m shot
which you could gain 275 scores.

and if you could take out another sniper you also gain another 25xp as counter snipping. (300xp in total)

that's how i remember it...
