Please Add A Feature That Punishes Abandonment

A good feature that most new games incorporate to avoid the quitter mentality. NO ONE LIKES A QUITTER!

Title edited to remove ALL CAPS - ElliotLH

  • @iiBullFrog Disagree.

There are many reasons a player will quit, from real world commitments ( caring for a relative for example ) that will require a player to drop out.

This isn't a competitive game either so bear that in mind also.

I would think most people just play for fun and when people leave a server its for many different reasons.
Do not think punishment or bonus has the big impact.

I will not stay on a server just for points if I have something else to do or dont think its fun.

  • IF they would've added some kind of competitve play like Incursions in Battlefield 1, then I'd be all for leave penalties.. But DICE didn't continue in that path and BF eSports & Competitive died already with Battlefield 3 afaik. We don't need leaver penalties, but if someone leaves to join another server because his team is losing, I feel like that player should get an extra loss counted on his statistics. Nothing worse than a bad loser.

  • I fully disagree for different reasons...

    Reasons are:

    • real life duties (family, animals, breakfast, breakfast 2, lunch, coffee time/tea time, dinner/supper, to long toilet breaks, real life-duties like service at local fire department, disconnecting because of router updates/ ip change, cirtical errors and crashes)
    • steamrolling team from your site
    • steamrolling team from the enemy team
      • when you are join a losing team which is large outnumbered and losing because the ticket counter goes down very fast in seconds
    • ace pilots without the ability to take them down / ace drivers without to destroy the tanks
    • when you join a team without teamplay
    • toxic players
    • you got seperated from your friends and have to join a queue to be re-united (a problem by playing with more as 4 friends)

Instead of punishing, players should get a bonus for not quitting matches.

It's funny this thread came up because I've just been in a game that to me could be easily quitable. It's when you get in a team (or the other team) that really just aren't interested. I'm not anything close to some sort of elite win at any costs type player but seeing too many bush campers or the like just isn't worth sticking around in a game with.

  • @iiBullFrog I don't like being stuck on a team for twenty five minutes in any of the various game modes with a bunch of people that aren't there to play them. Why punish me for quitting and finding a better team environment to enjoy the game in?

When this series gets a proper ranked area for platoons or anyone that plays these game modes to win. Then we can talk about punishing players for quitting.
