Hello

I would like to make some suggestions about the Solo/Co-op experience in Battlefield 2042.

At first I thought it was great we got to see a singleplayer experience again in a Battlefield game that for a long time was not available. As for me I'm more of a casual gamer and my reaction time, aim and movement is not the best in FPS games. Currently you can set the solo/co-op experience on easy, medium and hard. But I do find a few issues with the easy difficulty setting.

When I play on easy and I play in a helicopter for example, I get sniped out of nowhere by a NPC with an M5 recoilless. I also get obliterated by NPC's who have DMRs and regular assault rifles. It's like they have perfect aim and never miss a shot. Even from cross map distance. I would really like to see this solo/co-op mode getting an overhaul for us casual gamers who want to have a fun and relaxing time in this game. It feels that multiplayer has been worked on so greatly which I understand cause that is the main point of this game but at the same time the singleplayer experience is a bit left in the dust for us casual players. I would like to see that easy plays as easy obviously. Maybe letting us customize the experience also a bit. By altering what the bots can use and what they can't use. Changing the amount of ammo and HP you can have. Choosing which vehicles that can spawn and which you can pick etc. I know this can be done in Portal as well, but it would be nice if this could be done for the solo/co-co op mode.

Ofcourse, XP and progression come into play here as well. I understand if you make an experience very easy that it's not fair that you get loads of XP whilst other people grind it on multiplayer servers. Maybe it could be done that on the easy difficulty and when you have touched some settings and customized it a bit that you only earn a little to none XP. Just to make it a bit more fair for everyone.

My apologies if everything seems over the place, I just hope this is somewhat clear to you. I hope the solo/co-op mode can get some kind of overhaul so that us, casual players, can have an enjoyable time in this game as well.

Thanks in advance.

Kindest regards

Y.

So then, why not just make whatever type of experience you want to have in Portal using the 2042 maps and assets?

There's no difference really, in fact, if you leave the Portal difficulty on default and use PvP bots instead of PvE then youll earn allot more XP, ribbons and even weekly missions in Portal so you'll progress faster...but if you're willing to give up on some XP and the weekly missions then you can tailor it to play anyway you like...

Why do you prefer Solo/Coop as compared to Portal?

  • @Raider-1_HayatoI’ve made up some Portal experiences like BigShott suggested. You can make them so you can complete weekly BP missions, and limited ribbons and weapon tiering (up to T3 just like in Solo). You don’t get a Breakthrough option, but you do get a Rush option. Play around in the online editor to make a few experiences and see if you can make one you like. The editor is a little tetchy IMO, but if you mess around enough you’ll find what works. The biggest reason to do this is since they dropped the solo servers to 20hz from 45, they run like hot garbage. Portal gets you into a 45hz server just like main game (still not good Dice! 60 would run MP games so much better,) GLHF.
