Many players are super ignorant of their status as squad leaders unless it is pointed out to them.
Especially when in 2042 it has ZERO perks, unlike BFV where you would enjoy the privilege of calling special super vehicles or airstrikes.
I would honestly not notice that I am a squad leader in 2042 unless someone asks for orders.
If you are bothered by it, you can easily either let it count down or pass the lead.
You do not explode it that particular timer runs out.
