I strongly suspect we will have aircraft in the Beta and will know more then.

@iomar-bluUnfortunately, there has been no official information regarding aircraft flight dynamics or controls in Battlefield 2042. To be clear, the answer to your question is known, but is still behind NDA.

Hey @carsono311 ,
Think its OK to confirm that YES, we will have both helis, jets, various aircrafts in the BF2042 game, as they have been shown fine in the reveals already. 😎
Regarding the speed controls that @iomar-blu asks about, we can debate on how they could be better versus aka what we had in BF4, which he refers to. Personally I found it a bit too simplistic with just the 313 mark for optimal dog fighting. It shouldn't be just a question about who is best to keep the speed at 313 will win the fight.
Also the aerodynamics should be more demanding when doing the various maneuverings. Aka in the past you could slow abruptly down or keep hanging midway through a barrel roll and the airplane would still like just keep hang there in mid air. Aka, the stall effect was not really there as it ought to be.
Another aspect we would enjoy having is the g-LOC effect on the pilot. We ought to have a loss of conscious if entering into high g's for extended periods of time. Different real-life scenarios of this could fairly easily be implemented. So a progressive sequence of these manifested by aka:
- tunnel vision
- some level of "greyout"
- blackouts (you stay conscious, but vision is truly lost for a temporary period of time until you manage to relieve on the g's)
- and then last the full on g-LOC, where also consciousness is lost, so you also loose the handling/control on your stick at that, and your survival will depend on your trajectory and enemy actions till you may recover.
Adding proper stall effect on the aircraft and g-force effect on the pilot would dramatically increase the strategic options we have for great dogfights and make it about much more than just who is best on the speed control...

@CyberDymeI was not saying aircraft would not be in the game, I was stating that sharing our experiences with them as well as any specifics about the controls, performance, etc. is prohibited for now.

My bad @carsono311 ,
Can see that I jumped the gun, as see now that you also just indirect referred to if we would have aircrafts in the Beta or not! 😀
Personally I find that all the various vehicles and the gameplay with them is one of the absolute core features that makes Battlefield very special. So would expect that EA would include a bit from each of the main weapons categories and vehicle types to be in the beta, so we (and EA) gets the first taste of how they all gel together in the gameplay.

@CyberDymeOh yes… completely expect all vehicle types in the Beta. I would really just like to know when that is!!

I want that DICE includes speed control because jets shouldn't be that easy to fly

Agreed @midhat245_-_- ,
It should not be standard to see a jet-geek casually go k/d 80+/0 in round after round.
We need the speed factor included, but also the mass dynamics, so the difference in maneuverability depending on the g-load you have put onto your aircraft and the difference in power you can get from your engines depending on current state, aka airflow through the turbines.
On top, we need the g-forces on the pilot and proper stall dynamics.
A steep learning curve for some, yes. But it shouldn't be easy to become the master of the sky.

Why should they be hard?

Nice comment you have a lot of experience too, Dogfight isn't all about 313, cutting loops is more important too,
for me personally I accept 313 or ant other mechanics except BF! & BFV cuz they only hold the space space bar all the time,
you can kill enemy if he rocky but with a long time, but against pro players no one will kill the other, just hold the space bar until your friend come to help you.
thx
