I've been convinced of this for awhile now. I saw the same thing when Tor tank was first released and I had many back-to-back rounds with 50+ K/D before people figured out how to deal with it. I went back to playing infantry and was put in some seriously sweaty lobbies for awhile after that.
I also noticed when I was grouped with a friend who was a brand new player and quite bad, the enemy felt like bots.
SBMM has been in the game since BFV. Chris from Battlenonsense had some trusted connections with DICE devs (enough that he got additional network stats added to the game for tshooting). And he confirmed they did add it to BFV. I trust his source.
And I'm not talking about the misuse of the term for team balancer. It's been getting slowly more agressive over time. The reason it was barely noticable in BFV, is because most people didn't use the matchmaker and player population was so low, it didn't matter.
Why do you think DICE is so insistent on ignoring the demand for a AoW server browser? I wouldn't be at all surpised if they are also testing DDA. DICE is completely silent on these topics. Ask yourself why.
- YourLocalPIumber3 years agoSeasoned Ace@DigitalHype Exactly. I knew from the beginning why the server browser was absent from BF2042. And overall balance during matches proved it. Everything was constructed, slower paced, and "artificial".
Around before Season 4 dropped, something changed with MM. Waiting times got longer, and the match balance also got worse. I've begun noticing more and more lopsided games with 600+ point differences. Seems like they're cooking up something- 3 years ago
Can't be true.
They always put me in matches with bottom feeders.

I mean getting killed by some random enemy out of ho where and what seems like getting killed from behind cover or what seems to be 1 or 2 hits is not fun. And for them to add SBMM it just gets frustrating to play. Not sure who makes these decisions but do they even play the game?
- 3 years ago@DigitalHype BFV had a server browser. How can you do sbmm with a server browser? Unless you are referring to the quick match button, which many figured out quickly that it will put you in a lobby alone

@fragnsteinYes, I'm refering to the quick join options in BFV. I commented about that in my response. The matchmaking and SBMM was present there. It only worked at game launch or on console where the player numbers were high enough. Because the quick join was a much larger front-page option there were enough using it.
But after the player population dipped and most PC players were using the server browser, the quick launch was dead and SBMM wasn't happening. In fact, Chris commented about this and how DICE didn't really want people to using the server browser for this very reason.
I knew that this iteration of BF would remove the server browser. I even predicted it back in the old forums that the next BF wouldn't have one. The writing has bene on the wall for this since BF1. They had been slowly making the server browser worse after BF4 by removing features and making it less and less prominent and more cumbersome in the UI.

Since the Steam freebie went out I've seen countless rank 15-20 blitzing everybody. One player was constantly averaging over 70 kills on foot in back to back matches. Pretty sure they weren't legit to be honest, they'd instantly find you playing as Zain, and withstand vehicle fire. Then as I predicted seconds before hand as I'm tearing through enemy ranks, they were going to be the one who showed up with explosives. Sure enough, there they appear, right next to the vehicle. Straps explosive to it, detonates right next to themselves without dying. Vehicle survived, but I bailed to take him out. He's getting shot by three players plus me, in the open, less than 15m away. Manages to tank all that gunfire to one shot me through smoke and then gets killed. When a player is outpacing vehicle score on foot, and they're a new player, suspicions quickly start to rise. I've noticed this with a lot of low rank players who pull off perfect shots on occupants of moving vehicles. Spawned into a Condor side seat yesterday and within half a second, as its swinging around, a rank 15 takes my head off.
Really makes me think the reason I'm being matched with these people is because they're performing way beyond what their rank suggests their experience is. Ergo, illegitimate. Their activities would back that up.

@DigitalHypeIf you wanted even more proof, here are some of the players I went up against today, and some were on my squad. Pretty hilarious how suddenly I went from farming, to going against some no lifers. One was even S999, I lold so hard.
There were even more I didn't take a screenshot off during first game, but there were more S500+

Yeah it's quite obvious now with more players. I quit playing cod cause of too strong SBMM

Whether or not there is dynamic nerfing/buffing of weapon spread, skill-based matchmaking or whatever, the game has been an utter mess this last week. Tonight has been basically unplayable.

I've wondered about this, and a couple of things make me think this could be correct. It wouldn't surprise me if it was true.
