Sadly, this video mentions just a fraction of things that are missing or have been totally downgraded in BF2042 compared to previous games. You can easily compile enough material for 1 hour long video.

And that are just visual downgrades for the most part. This is just the tip of the iceberg
Every other feature including gameplay are also downgraded. And that is the real Problem.
They said we had "brutal expectations" but that's not entirely true. We expected it to be at least as good as a 10+ years old game and fixing the problems we had in previous titles.
Of course they don't meet these expectation if they scrap literally everything and make a step back in quality by more than a decade.
I think that's the huge gap between BF and games like CoD.
CoD just keeps making the working formula every year. Testing new stuff and if it doesn't work they scrap it and do something else or go take a step back for the core fans (Back to "boots on the ground" after several future CoDs). They don't try to copy paste every trend to sell the core game. Core gameplay still has to be CoD gameplay every year.
They added a BR in the hype of BRs as a game mode in BO4 but used their own maps in the layout and had the twist with zombies. That was nostalgia for the fans and something unique to the genre. They polished their own BR vision into warzone just in the next game and it became a good standalone gamemode.
BF is just hunting for the quick money and losing it's identity and core players. poorly copy pasting ideas instead of just copy pasting the BF core and adding new ideas into it.
The game will never work this way.
DICE has just lost their passion for details and for Battlefield in general I'm afraid. Don't want to be pessimistic but I don't see that game to be good any time soon...
